If I was buying shoes for a retail store and wanted to get a handle on approximately how many to buy of each, is there a list published anywhere that breaks down how sizes are distributed by percentage for both men and women in the US population?

In other words assuming I need to buy 100 women’s (or men’s) shoes and I intend of buying a good mix is there some reference I can check as to the most popular to least popular sizes.

Just start with a site like Shoetrades.comand look for the trade information. If you have a hard time getting the detailed info without spending money (if that matters), contact a shoe manufacturer, they will probably give you any information you need for free.
