Shopping for softball cleats yesterday brought home to me once again how large my feet are. I’m a 25 year old female, I’m 5’8", and I wear a mens size 10 (on average) US. Depending on brand, I fluctuate from a 9 to an 11.
In a woman’s shoe, that would be size 10 - 13. Not many shoe stores here sell anything above an 9 or 10 in women’s sizes. This isn’t a big deal for me, as I only wear tennis shoes (sneakers) and they are practically the same for men as women, but if I’m looking for a nice pair of dress shoes, I’m usually SOL.
So, what’s your shoe size?
How tall are you?
What gender persuasion do you follow?
Male, United States, 5’10’’, shoe size 9 or sometimes 9 and 1/2. Never had trouble with shoe sizes during adulthood, though it was a problem when I was younger.
This seems to be a fairly popular size for women, so I can usually find shoes in that size. However it is hard sometimes because it is such a popular size, many styles are sold out in that size first.
I deeply sympathize with those girls who can’t find ANYTHING in terms of dress shoes. I can’t either, because I have squares instead of feet, I swear to God. My feet are wide, as you may have guessed , and I can find shoes that fit fine length wise, but WIDTH wise is a whole other story! The rare dress shoe that fits both length wise AND width wise… are accompanied by a 4 inch heel, AND happens to be about 75% more expensive than other shoes. I am tall enough damnit, I don’t need to have a humongous heel! Heh, aw well! I don’t go to many fancy places anyway!
I have so much trouble finding shoes as I have a wide foot. I envy women who can walk into a store and have a selection of shoes to choose from. I rarely find anything I can comfortably wear, and as for dress shoes, forget it.
