Is there a name for the loop that the end of a belt goes through?

When you buckle your belt, there is usually a loop that the end of the belt, i.e. the excess that has gone past the loop, goes through. Does this loop have a name?

Yes, it does.

Excellent. Should I start out a new thread to get the name?

sorry, i was being facetious.
I have just been searching for the info you require, but can’t find
anything…

It made me chuckle.

I suppose it would be to obvious to suggest that it might be called a belt loop?

I know, that’s what you call the things on your pants, too. But that’s what I’ve always heard it called.

They’re called “keepers”

I call mine Larry.
