Is there a name for this exercise?

Laying down on the groud. Weight (be it dumbbell or medicine ball or kettleball) held in arms extended straight out on ground “over” head. Pull weight over to chest as standing up and go into a jump on a box (or stairs) into pressing weight over head. Step down, lower down, reverse the sit up and slowly lower weight bck onto original position.

Called anything?

Sounds like a variation of the Turkish Get Up - laying down, weight ‘above’ head, stand up maintaining weight position, and lay down again.

I don’t know any name for your particular combination of movements though.

Sure - it’s called a DSeid.

Definitely different, but probably because I am so poor at describing the exercise.

The first part is pretty much a wall ball sit-up that continues into a box jump and then into an overhead press, all meant to be done as explosively as possible, and controlled back down in reverse.

(Except I do it with a dumbell instead of a medicine ball and up three steps of my basement stairs instead of a box.)

It may not have a name. I had taken a couple of free intro CrossFit classes at a local box with one of my sons and began this at home based off of a wall ball sit up into squat throw (which itself seems a variant of the standard CrossFit wall ball squat-throw) mixed with their wall ball sit up and threw in the jump part of it adapted for no high wall or medicine balls.

I think I’ll just have stick with calling it this odd thing I do. Ah well. Thanks.
