Is there a place with 4 StarBucks?

Maybe things are different in San Fransisco, but the largest (venti) regular Starbucks coffee here by my house (in Chicago, no less) is $1.80.

It’s the espresso drinks that are $4-$5.

Then again, it is San Francisco, but I would like independent confirmation before I believe that a regular cup of joe is $4-$5 there.

There are 19 within five miles of me, so not too many. I typically prefer Kiva Han (Pgh local store) anyway, but I do love Frappuccinos. Nobody makes a good iced coffee outside of KH and Starbucks; most places will just dump a bunch of ice cubes in the coffee if you ask for “iced coffee” and will look down their noses and point to their “Starbucks sucks” sign if you say “no, I mean, like a Frappuccino.” I don’t drink normal coffee in cafes since I can just get it for free at work so I have been known to go to Starbucks on occasion even though it makes me feel dirty. Note to local coffee shops: more froo-froo drinks! I want my coffee, chocolate, and whipped cream all together, all at once.

Polaris Fashion Center in Columbus, Ohio has 3 Starbucks inside. Directly across the street from the mall is a free-standing Starbucks with drive-thru. Behind that Starbucks is a Barnes & Noble with another Starbucks inside. Also across from the mall is JPMorgan Chase’s headquarters, which has its own Starbucks in it as well. So that’s 6 within a 200 yard radius, at most.

Ooo gift card swap! I don’t suppose you like Abercrombie&Fitch, then? I can’t seem to get rid of it for the life of me!

I have 92 within a 5-mile radius of home, and 99 within 5 miles of work. The nearest to home is the one that employs my husband, and it’s maybe a 5-minute walk. He has the best commute!

And no, plain-ol-coffee does not, at your average US Starbucks, cost $4.00.

You win!

I’ve got 81 within five miles of home and 95 within five miles of work.

Am I the only person in the entire world who actually seeks out 7-Eleven coffee? My hierarchy is ex-boyfriend’s coffee, 7-eleven, dunkin donuts, my homemade coffee and then whatever happens to be where ever I’m going.

Although Dunkin Donuts is good I can never actually trust that they’ll put the correct amount of sugar & cream in the cup or the lid on tightly which makes them second to 7-eleven. My coffee is last because I have to do all the work myself.

I’m so lowbrow.

No, you’re no lowbrow, 7-Eleven is my first choice too, outside of my own homebrew. I wish I liked DD better, as a relative owns several of them, and I could have regular supplies of their beans if I wanted.

I also like 7-11 because I make it myself. French (or Dark Mountan) Roast, light cream, sugar and a drop of that French Vanilla chemical glop, that’s as frou-frou as I get.

Yeah, well, we’re in Seattle. Heck, I have a dozen Starbucks within a hundred yards of me. As of last week, there’s one in my pancreas.

No no no! Look back at my post. 105.
