Western Pennsylvania, eh? Moonshining?
No, but I have a friend who is a retired chemistry professor who has a beautiful still in his garage.
Wester PA has a reputation for moonshine production? I thought that was West Virginia.
Paraphrasing James Carville: Philadelphia in the east, Pittsburgh in the west and Alabama in the middle.
There is no hoping, young CC…
Best wishes.
I’m happy things are starting to look up for you, CCitizen. I’ve given you a tough time in the past and I’m gratified to see you taking some initiative about your situation.
Thank you – both me and my computer are at work.
Actually, it’s unfortunate that you’re not going to the university each day. You’ve said in other threads that you’re lonely and suffer from depression. I don’t know anything about depression but perhaps the loneliness could be alleviated some in a workplace situation.
And if not, you’ve also said that you have limited opportunities to get out of the house because you don’t drive, are far from public transport and can’t afford taxis. Well, if you can keep this job, you might have enough disposable income (twenty hours a week at fifteen bucks an hour is $300 before taxes) that you could afford to get out more, even if that requires you to hire taxis to get you places. (I think you mentioned being interested in some video games; some people meet in person to play those. Or you could meet others for a D&D game or the like.)

Indeed I am very lonely but such is life. While my computer is working on my MatLab program I can talk online. Hopefully I will have some money.
Well, if you keep doing a good job, perhaps the professor/employer will need you to come to the lab for meetings at some point? Basically, I’m encouraging you to find any excuse to get out of the house.

I doubt – my work is computer simulation.

My cousin and his wife have a connection. They got some KILLER stuff last Christmas. Smooth as kool-aid.
