Muting doesn’t seem to do it. I would like to check Latest or Top threads and have some threads disappeared into the cornfield for me. I know I can hide users, but I was hoping to selectively hide threads. It is a common feature on many boards.
Muting the thread ought to do the trick. Not sure if it takes them out of Top, but it should take them out of Latest.
Cool, it does look like it is only Top they stay in. If I go to the forum it also doesn’t appear. I’ll try to minimize my use of Top.
Is there a way to hide the board completely?

Someone mentioned you can mute a forum, e.g., “Marketplace.” How do I do this, exactly?
Never mind- found it! You open the forum (click on its name), then click the bell icon. This gives you a drop-down list, including a bell with a slash through it. There’s your forum mute.
You can also go into your preferences and do it there.
