Is there a way to make mirror-image text in MS word?

For reasons that must not be named  , I’d like to be able to print out substantial quantities of text that are backwards so that they can be read only in a mirror. Is there a quick and easy way to do this in MS word (or some other commonly used Windows application)?

Converting it to a graphic, either via a screen capture or other means, then using Paint or some other image-processing tool to flip it is probably the easiest option. If you’d like, you may email me the document in question and I can use my Paintshop Pro to do it.

I ran into a similar need once; I was printing to a T-shirt iron-on transfer, and it obviously had to be mirrored. I wasn’t able to find a way to do it within a word processing application.

Try your printer’s print options; some printers may allow mirroring the output. Otherwise, I think that Q.E.D. has the solution.

Yep, this is what i’d do.

I have Photoshop, but i just checked and plain old MS Paint, which comes with Windows, will flip images for you no problem.

You can do it in WordArt. Make your text. Click on it; go to Draw, Rotate. This is a lot easier than converting it to a graphic in Paint or PS.

If you have a lot of text, make a text box. Type your text. Copy the text box and Paste Special - I think as an Enhanced Metafile. (Regular Paste won’t work.) Then you can click on the Paste Special object and go to Draw, Rotate.

WordArt probably works better for smaller amounts of text, but you can put tons in a text box.

I was going to suggest this too. Some WordArt settings even look like normal text.

I was going to suggest this as well. Check the “Advanced” tab/button in your printer dialogue box.

Try a mirror-image font. A google search found this one:
osomir.zip: PRMirror is a mirror-image sans serif TrueType font that is intended to be used when you need to create right-to-left mirror image text; English-language keyboard characters only; 02/01/95; OsoSoft.
