Is there a way to open multiple bookmarks at once in Firefox?

Is there a way to open multiple bookmarks at once in Firefox? I’d like to have an icon on my desktop that when double clicked will open Firefox. In that browser window I’d like one tab to open my gmail account, one to open my hotmail, one to open the Straight Dope, etc. Think of it as a “Open all of my daily websites at once” button. This seems like something that wouldn’t be very complex, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how.

Open up the tabs you want, then

Tools -> Options -> Main -> Use current pages

Put them into a folder by themselves and double-click the folder.

Also in Bookmarks, everything I have in a folder has a button “open all in tabs” for that folder. I do that a lot with my sports bookmarks on game days.

or see post above me

Well. you can put them all in a bookmark folder. After you open Firefox, you middle click on that folder. The first time you’ll get a message asking if you want to open all those windows. But there’s a checkmark telling it not to ask you again. ETA: what NoClueBoy said

If you want to set them all as your homepage, open up all the tabs you want, go to Tools > Options > Main, and click the Use Current Pages button. Make sure Firefox is set to open on your homepage, and every time you open Firefox, it will open those pages. ETA: what Tapioca said

If, on the other hand, you want to have a regular Firefox desktop shortcut and a special Firefox one that opens your pages, make a copy of your Firefox shortcut. Right-click > Properties > Shortcut and edit the target field by adding each URL you want to open, making sure they are in quotation marks. So, instead of just saying

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

it will say (for example)

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" "gmail.com" "hotmail.com" "straightdope.com"

That’s all the ways I know to pull it off.

Or, just leave your usual tabs up when you close Firefox, and then when you open Firefox next time, there they are.

That was extremely informative and easier than I thought it would be. Thanks.

Lotsa cool stuff here. If I ever get around to it, I want custom links to open on Monday, Tuesday, etc.

“Open All in Tabs” is a great feature, and I personally use it for bill-payment day. I have all of the accounts I pay online saved in one folder. Open all the tabs, cycle through each one and voila.

Ah, 2010. I remember when Dad had to pull out the giant metal file box and waste an entire day at his desk with a pile of paper and the checkbook. At the time, I thought it looked cool and grown-up.

I am really glad I don’t have to do that.

I use a FF add-on called Morning Coffee, which you can customize for days of the week and such,
