I use Outlook Express for email. Is there any advantage to having Thunderbird? I mean, what does it do that is different/better? Will it import my email settings and rules(and so forth)?
What are you expreiences? Do you like it?
I use the full Mozilla package for both the internet and email. The email interface is designed to be as similar as possible to OE, in the same way as Firefox is to IE. And it imports most settings fine. It used to be highly recommended to switch away from OE to avoid security issues - but most worms, spyware etc seem to come through IE now instead. So yes, there’s a small security advantage, but nothing comparable to avoiding IE.
