Is there ANY Good Chain Pizza?

Uno’s has an outrageously good crust, and good toppings to boot.

I liked Little Caeser’s when we had one around here, but that was partially due to price.

I have to second the Round Table. They have the best pizza I have ever had. I had Dominos once, and I don’t remember it being bad, I don’t remember it being that great either.

Im all about Sbarros Pizza. Especially the one in South Station- they have the best pizza anywhere! Course, if you go, be sure to tell the company that the flirty female manager gave the best service you’ve ever had, and that she deserves a really big raise…

*Okay, so Im prejudiced. But we do have awesome pizza!!

I heated some up that had been around a couple of days and it was damn good. Didn’t even try it cold.

I don’t like Papa John’s–the sauce is too bland and sweet.

I’d comment, but unfortunatly, I suffer from a strange disorder where I like almost every pizza I’ve had. Sure, they are different, but I’ve rarely eaten a pizza I didn’t like (I can’t remember the one I didn’t like. Probably one of the really cheap cardboard pizzas).

That being said, I won’t interrupt this thread for a pound. If you give me a pound, this thread will remain uninterrupted.

Ah, you’ve never had crappy pizza until you’ve had French delivery pizza. Blech. There are Pizza Huts (though I believe they do NOT deliver) in Paris, but out here in the outer 'burbs, all you can get is small neighborhood places.

Vegetarian has: boiled potato bits, olives and TINNED combo variety of vegetables (you know, with the cube-shaped carrot, peas and corn). One time was enough!

In other words, they just get some dough, dump some cheese on, dump a tin (or part of one) on top and send it off.

The other varieties are not much better. :frowning:
That’s why I always order a sandwich grec (like a donner kebab) and chips (fries)!

Second for liking most types of chain pizza, with one exception: Domino’s. It’s like they don’t even give a damn about it (referring to the corporate office, etc.) The sauce tastes like straight ketchup. Very skimpy with the toppings too.

Donato’s is good, but the one over here is too far away from me.

I used to like little Caesars, but only because they had specials all the time-a large for $5!

Right now we like Dominos, but I’ve never tried a Sbarro’s one, but I love their spaghetti!

I have no problem with most chain pizza. Dominos and Pizza Hut are fine by me. In a sense, I’m glad I don’t have to scour the earth for “good” pizza.

However, I don’t like Papa John’s. I realize they’re all gaga about their crust, but damn, why not add some toppings to it? Papa John’s pizza is a big slab of bread they then show a photograph of toppings to. It’s a three mile hike from the edge of the crust to the start of the tomato sauce. If I want to eat bread, I’ll just eat bread.

Mmmmmmmm, my favorite pizza ever is the “Numero Uno” from Pizzeria Uno. You are right about the crust, it tastes like fine pastry. The toppings are very fresh, I especially like that they use large chunks of tomatoes instead of sauce.

The nearest Uno’s is 30 minutes away right now but, one is currently being built in my town. I can’t wait until opens next year.

Uno’s is great! I love the whole tomatoes, too–I get so full after about two pieces, though, but that just means more to take home.

I’d forgotten about Sbarro’s. I don’t go to food courts too much, but their pizza is great in a pinch; it’s always been consistently good. Personally, I can’t stand Papa Johns or Pizza Hut. We have a good chain here called Pizza Outlet, but a lot of people can’t stand it. To each their own, I guess.

Mmm best chain pizza is without a doubt Round Table Pizza.

Spicy/tangy sause, good cheese and their ‘King Authers Supreme’ is fantastic!

Unfortunatly they seem to only be in Alaska Washington and California.

I like Pizza Inn.

Unos. Been to about a dozen of them. NY pizza snob - I avoid pizza out of the NYC metro area as a rule, but will have Uno’s. They have their snobbery too - in the original Uno’s, we tried to order the Pizza skins - and were told only the franchisees have that, in a rather condescending tone by an otherwise very nice waitress.

There was a Rocky’s in Cedar Falls IA when I was going to Northern Iowa. Good pizza as I recall. Ate there fairly frequently. There was also a Shakey’s, and a few of us frequened it, for a while, because it had a buffet. I got tired of it thought because all the food was pretty uninteresting (which is not such a bad thing when you’re a student on a small budget of course, as long as it’s all you can eat) but the chicken and potatos were good.

About square pizza though, is that a specialty in some places? In a recent issue of Flash, one of the characters was planning to order a square pizza, so the Flash ran to Detroit to pick one up for him, and said it was “the best square pizza around.”

To all you Uno’s lovers, my husband is Regional Director for the company. I’m sure he would appreciate your votes. Needless to say, I LOVE their pizza.

Dominos. Blech.
Pizza Slut. Blech.
Papa John’s. Eh.
Pizzaria Uno. Wish it was still around. It was replaced by a NASTY Chinese place.

We’ve been doing the Papa Murphy’s take-n-bake thing lately. $6.99 for a 8 x 12" square DEEP dish that is pretty good.

The BEST pizza I have ever had was in…Norway.
Yep.
Pepe’s Pizza. Croissant like crust. Rich sauce. Fabulous.

Otherwise it’s (for Minnesotans only) Broadway Bar and Pizza. Too much cheese, enough grease to choke a chicken. The best day after pizza known to humankind.

Miss~pizza is TOO a food group~Take

I’d try their pizza, just because of the name.

Rocky Rococo was the Peter Lorre-ish character in Firesign Theatre’s “Adventures of Nick Danger, Third Eye”.

2 types - Neapolitan (round) and Sicilian (square). The Sicilian is a lot thicker, like deep dish. Maybe 3/4 "? Mostly dough, topped with cheese and sauce. Most NY places have both.
