Is there any way I can see a German TV show in the U.S.?

Background to this question: There’s a German singer (baritone Christian Gerhaher) whom I am madly devoted to. He’s not very well known in the U.S., so I have been able to find out very little about him. Someone has just made a documentary about him, which will be aired on German TV in July. (At least I think it’s on TV–my German is so nonexistent that I’m not even sure I’m reading the announcement correctly.)

Do any of you know if there’s a way I could access this show from the U.S.? I know it seems unlikely, but I only recently figured out I can listen to Germany radio, so I figured it was worth asking.

TimeWarner Cable where I am has a few international channels on a special tier. You could check with your cable provider (after getting clear on which German station will carry that program) and see if it’s available. If it is, you can subscribe to whatever package includes it for a month, I guess.

On the Website you linked to, there is a “Mediathek” button that will take you to a site where you can view live TV and selected past programs. Maybe it’ll be on there after it airs?

ETA: KneadToKnow, this is a regional Bavarian station, I doubt it would be available on TV in the US.

Concur, but that was the first solution that came to me.

There are a few things related to him on Youtube (not this):

Thank you for the responses. Pitchmeister, I didn’t know what “Mediathek” meant. That page looks like a very likely possibility. I will certainly try it. Thanks.
