I can also confirm the Hello Kitty vibrator. I saw it in one of those skill tester things in Taiwan… along with a whole other bunch of goodies.
Of course, this is the country that also has live crabs and lobsters in skill testers 
Except Hello Kitty is a lot older. I remember being annoyed by Hello Kitty pencil cases back in elementary school about 20 years ago.

I remember looking at Hello Kitty products (OK-for-kids ones, thank you) about 25 years ago in a department store in my hometown in the midwestern US, so it’s definitely been in the US for a while.
I wanted a radio for work and ended up buying this one http://store.yahoo.com/sanriostore/58112.html in a store (for cheaper than the listed price) since it had the features I wanted - plus some strange part of my brain seems to like the Sanrio characters. At least Badtz Maru is a cool character.
