Is there clear biblical support for the idea that we should be grateful to God?

Probably sounds like a strange question, but I realized earlier today that I don’t know of a biblical case to be made for the view that, in general, one of the correct attitudes we all should have toward God is that of gratitude.

This is in GQ because I’m just looking for clear biblical references.

Various psalms say that we should, e.g.,

Bible verses about gratitude.

Colossians 3: 15-17

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him

The answers are all well and good, but man wrote the bible.

Where is the proof that the bible is the word of God?

Oh man you just BLEW MY MIND!

Your question is completely off topic. No one here is discussing the question of who wrote the bible.

Were you hoping for biblical support for the idea that came from outside the Bible?

I’m very glad you raised this point. No-one, on this generally left-leaning and largely atheist board, has ever thought to do so before.
