Yeah, it’s a bit clichéd, yeah it’s House M.D. at the D.A.'s office. But Woods is great, his love and conflicts with the daughter work very well, and Hitchcock must be sooo envious in his grave that he never got chance to direct another quintessential Hitchcock girl - Sarah Carter (rooowr - I’ll be in my bunk).
Except for her, none of Shark’s posse does a whole lot for me.
Well, we’re watching it and enjoying it every week. It is indeed very derivative of “House,” but in my opinion, James Woods pulls it off. A lesser actor wouldn’t have, and we wouldn’t be watching it.
I agree that James Woods makes the show worth watching. The daughter sub-plot is a bit tired, but other than that, I like Wood’s character and his ruthless approach.
I like this show but they need to change the time slot. I fall asleep (I always fall asleep, but I fall asleep less on earlier shows). James Woods…what’s not to like? He’s one of my all time favorites.
He’s got some great lines, like the one from this week that went some thing like, “If I wanted your opinion, I would stop ice skating and ask for it.” I had to explain it to my wife. Good times.
Shark will never be Denny Crane. Hell, he will never be Shirley Schmidt.
I loved James Woods as ‘Shark’. I disliked everything else about ‘Shark’ enough that I stopped watching it. I sat through the first three or four episodes. Bad writing, poor secondary characters, the boring daughter sub-plot, and awful courtroom scenes (compare them to ‘Boston Legal’, and they come off as a second-rate imitation).
Has the show improved?
Ditto to each sentence in Sam Stone’s post.

Uhm, no. But it’s a fun way to kill an hour anyway, at least IMO.
Sebastian Stark is no Denny Crane, but then Boston Legal is a major league player, whereas Shark is just another tv show. James Woods makes it worth my time though.
I’m wondering about the main title, which seems to change for no goo reason. Also, the eps seem a bit out of order.
I like it, but will be surprised if it survives 13 eps.
A mild annoyance - why is Jerri Ryan there? She killed Boston Public and she’ll kill this show too.
I agree with most that Wodds is, as usual, very good, but the rest is blah.
Might be a fun idea to have a crossover where Woods is in charge of prosecuting House.
Ooh, that would fit right into the current story line, of House meeting his matches.
What’s the ice skating reference?
I like the stories because the villains are never totally evil.
I don’t get the ice skating reference, either. Can someone help us out here?
