I understand that due to the upgrade, it was announced that some posts would be lost. Is there no way to revive them?

That was part of the plan, or perhaps more accurately stated, it was fully expected that we’d have a period of time that was going to be lost as it takes a bunch of time to turn off posting, back up the database, do the upgrades and change servers, then restore not only one, but two databases and hope it’s possible to intertwine the two without destroying everything.
In effect, Jerry and crew would have to combine two message boards into one, and it’s just not worth the headaches that would have involved.
The database was copied on Friday. Everything posted between then and this morning was not saved anywhere else, and no longer exists. I’m pretty sure that’s the whole deal. It’s already gone.
Also, everybody was TOLD all those threads would be gone, and particularly in the Pit, they posted accordingly.
Then it would be okay for us to repost those OP’s?
Go for it. Aside from the Pit stuff, that is, since all the rules are back on.
