Is this a bug in the search function?

I don’t always remember what threads I posted to, so I frequently use the search function to find where I was last time I logged in. Doing that, It listed them in the following order:

10-20-2011 09:27 PM
10-20-2011 10:48 AM
10-19-2011 01:12 PM
10-18-2011 08:35 PM

That’s not the order for the last post in the thread, as it usually is, nor is it in the order of my last post in the threads. It’s just completely out or order, and I have no idea why. It could be nothing as I’ve never seen it do this, and it’s far from a big deal, but I thought I’d ask just in case it’s indicative of a larger problem.

I don’t have an answer for your question, but I do have a suggestion for you. If you set your account to automatically subscribe to any thread you post to, all you have to do is hit the “User CP” button at the top to see a list of threads that have had activity since the last time you’ve checked them. You can manually subscribe to threads as well.
Also, you can hit the User CP button as often as you like without worrying about a two minute delay and it doesn’t cause problems with the search feature like the New Posts button does.

Not a bad idea. testing…

forgot the 7 time 3 captcha thing. retesting…

Worked! Thanks, JoeyP. The mods and admins should still probably look into the possible bug, though.

There are various sort orders available in the search function.

  • Relevancy
  • Title
  • Number Of Replies
  • Number Of Views
  • Thread Start Date
  • Last Posting Date
  • User
  • Forum

You presumably usually sort by Last Posting Date, but probably selected one of the others without noticing.

That’s an error and you shouldn’t be seeing it … and I need to adjust that out, sorry.

Should be gone now. My apologies. (It’s a device to help keep out spambots.)
