Is this a feasible money-spinner?

OK just let me preface this by saying this by saying that I am not out do any harm to anyone and that the people in question are not poor, disadvantaged or in anyway at risk.
I happen to know a lot of people who enjoy drinking, especially at parties, and generally all at the same time. For the most part they tend to buy a bottle of spirits (often vodka) at what seems to me an exorbitant price. My idea is to buy alcohol in bulk and sell it to them at a slightly reduced price, saving them money and netting me a profit.
Will this work and if so how would I go about ordering this alchohol?

Where do you live, Gahudh, and where would you be buying this alcohol in bulk? The words “Duty tax” and “license to sell intoxicating liquor” spring to mind.

Selling alcohol is one of the most heavily licensed and taxed processes in the US. Each state has their own rules and regulations, and there may be federal rules that you must also follow. I suspect that the red tape and taxes would eat up any possible profit, if your scheme was even allowed under the local laws. In some states, like NH, you must buy hard alcohol from a state liquor store.

There already are people who buy alcohol in bulk and sell it to party goers. They are called liquor stores.

In effect, your idea is already being done.

In states where it’s legal, you can buy grain neutral spirits under trade names like “Everclear”. Everclear is 95% alcohol, and has long been a staple of events like frat parties where it is mixed with a variety of things like grape juice and koolaid. In my day, the concoction was sometimes called “purple jesus” when made with something grape flavored.

As others have observed, selling the grain neutral spirits is subject to the laws and taxation of the state.

Dang. Ah well, it was only idle speculation anyway. Thanks for the insightful replies people.
