Is this a "kissing bug" ??

Found in Georgetown, SC this morning (it’s dead)

Body is appx 1.5 in. long

Looks like one, but the huge back legs don’t seem to be in any photos I looked at online

I still have the insect

It looks like some species of leaf-footed bug to me.

Yes, family Coreidae. Probably a member of the genus Acanthocephala, but I haven’t found an exact species match yet.

It looks like what we used to call a stink bug.

Stink bugs are a member of the same order, Hemiptera, but a different family, Pentastomidae.

After reviewing information, I’m going to go with Acanthocephala declivus, the Giant Leaf-footed Bug. It has something odd going on with its back just below the head, but overall it seems to match very well.
