Would my 18-year-old son be disqualified from military service if he is being treated with medication for chronic liver disease? He is healthy except for this (serious) issue, which has thus far not affected his body’s functioning, despite damage to his liver. He is fit and able to perform the physical and mental requirements of military service.
He has HepB virus. Unless there comes a cure, he will be on the medication indefinately.
His hepatologist was unable to answer this question. Anyone know?
