Is this an official or unofficial declaration of support for Kerry by Bill Clinton?

I didn’t want to put this in GQ to avoid any political discussion smackdown from the mods, nor in MPSIMS because it’s slightly more interesting than mundane.

Anyway, I’m on Kerry’s distribution list, and I just got an e-mail from Pres. Clinton. Here’s a portion of that e-mail:

I highly doubt it’s a fake, as it very much resembles everything else that comes off of Cahill’s desk and into my inbox. It also has all the same links, “Paid for by John Kerry for President, Inc.”, etc.

So, official or unofficial endorsement? Should we expect more appearances by Clinton this season?

I got a voicemail from President Clinton a few weeks ago, before the California elections.

Seriously, without seeing it nobody could judge if it was real or not. But yes, we can expect to see President Clinton on the stump for Kerry. It would help if right now he got the word out about Libya’s capitulation on WMD’s, and how they were ready to accept basically the same deal from Libya in 1999 except for the whole Lockerbie thing. Let me look up a cite on this, I saw it mentioned on one of the other threads.

How would it be possible for Clinton to take any other position? You think he’d rather see Bush win than some Democrat not named Hillary?

Found it!

After Gore’s mistake of 2000, Kerry would be a fool to not use Clinton as much as he possibly could.

America liked Clinton. For the most part, during the Clinton years, we were richer and less afraid. Just having him up there is a reminder that we’re worse off than we are four years ago.

(Yes, many of the good points of Clinton’s years, or the bad parts of Bush’s, weren’t the president’s fault, but many blame the president for everything, so I can’t begrudge anyone for playing to this tendancy).
