Sorry about that, I understand how some might take it badly, but hopefully not too badly. I didn’t see it as an insult of any kind.
I’d agree that referring to ‘gays’ rather than ‘gay people’ is a bit jarring (I thought that about the thread title as well). I can’t put my finger on why, but I think it’s to do with reducing people to one aspect of their personality. It feels a bit objectifying.
Other than that, not offensive.
