Is this device used for speech disorder?

When I was in therapy for my speech disorder, I had to chew on a ‘plastic hammer’ twice per day, and have to apply some sort of massaging device on my tongue, so I am quite used to the fact that sometimes bizarre devices are used in the process.

I came across this at a booth today - a lip trainer. Well, the issues it is supposed to solve is less than modest, but I am only interested in the speech disorder part. Supposedly it strengthened your lips closure (which I have a problem with) and the muscles on the inside of the chin. (My therapist said that it was surprising for a person of my age to still have such a fat chin).

I’m not going to the therapist now (she said there is no need for therapy at my age - probably too old!) , but she said I have to keep up with the chewing and biting and what not, but I lost those devices when moving houses. Will this lip trainer help? (specifically for speech disorder) What about its other claims?

Sounds intriguing… nothing I’ve heard of though. I used to have a bad stutter and lisp and never used such a device.

Well, I’ve decided to play the sucker and bought it. I was warned that due to exercising of dormant facial muscles I may have increased sinus activities and etc. I’ll keep you guys posted.
