I was talking instead about the armed invasion, supported and planned by the CIA, using Cuban exiles living in the US. Instead of successfully toppling Castro (as they had planned), the Bay of Pigs resulted in the deaths or imprisonment of all the irregular soldiers left on the beach with no air support. Since you don’t seem to understand the usage of sarcasm here, I was using it as an example to refute Brutus’s post about how cool the CIA was before all the damn hippies gutted it. Shockingly, I agree with you, and considering how much Bush and Co love the intelligence they get as it conforms exactly to their pre-conceived notions, then I see exactly as you propose above coming to bear. Where we disagree, however, is that I really really disagree with you that this will be a good thing, as the CIA will still be fundamentally a bunch of cowboys who watch waaay to many James Bond movies and prefer their martinis shaken, not stirred.
