I like the cut of your jib, kid.
Ryan tell us again how you like to push buttons for giggles.
Like you are doing right now?
You two are just like Watson and Crick except the whole thing about being smart and adding something useful to society thing.

OK. I don’t get it; what’s your point? That there couldn’t have possibly been 20-40k VC and associates in RSVN? That because it’s purportedly a big number, it must be a wholesale orphanage liquidation program or something?
I guess reading comprehension is not high on your agenda either, then, as the operative word is Civilians, not VC or NVA or anything else. Civilians, in case you are wondering, means people who are just trying to live their lives without getting their brains blown out by a US-trained hit squad in in front of their kids in the home they built in spite of living in a war zone.
You must remember the civilians, right, the people who you seem to think have no voice and don’t matter as long as you can drive your fucking SUV four blocks to get your liquor and guns from the mini mart before going out to blow some more countries into the Stone Age.

Like you are doing right now?
I could say the same for you.

I guess reading comprehension is not high on your agenda either, then, as the operative word is Civilians, not VC or NVA or anything else. …
Ya, because those VC all wore the VC uniform and carried VC ID cards and sang the VC anthem made every effort to differentiate themselves from non-combatants. Yep.
I could say the same for you.
You could, but as usual, you would be really wrong. Trying to goad Ryaninto some sort of reaction is pretty crass. Not unexpected, since quite a few of your poop-flinging simian comrades have done the same in this thread, but it’s still pretty gauche.
Anyway hijacking the thread from these two assholes back to the OP, I don’t see it doing anything other then adding to our terrorist problems. Someone will get wrongly snatched up, and we’ll create a new bunch of terrorists where none may have existed before.

Not goading him into shit. He admitted he likes to fuck with people with no prodding from us.

Says someone from the Netherlands.
Indeed.
The Netherlands, home of the International Court of Law, which (as you probably know) is not recognised by Bush and cronies, because they do not want their soldiers to be prosecuted for breaking the Geneva convention.
As a matter of fact this “President” even tried to pass a law so that US soldiers could invade the Netherlands to free their troops should they ever be judged for crimes against humanity.
People like you are trying to turn the clock back to a time… aaargh, why am I even arguing with someone with so little class and intellect.
Enjoy your stinted view of the world, little brother, and come back when your pubes are starting to grow. :wally
Not goading him into shit. He admitted he likes to fuck with people with no prodding from us.
But prod you do!
Hehehehe, ‘but prod’…

But prod you do!
Hehehehe, ‘but prod’…
Back to the thread or stop posting in it k?
Ryan_Liam, you came back. Care to answer the question I posed earlier?
For reference, posted by me
Now I’d really like you to explain what you know about american values and how you think nibbling our rights away defends them.
And no, using Aldebran as a shield doesn’t count as an answer. I’d really love to know how an english teenager has such an in depth knowledge of America, the Patriot Act, our values, our freedoms, etc.
I’m not trying to say that Bush is a tin pot dictator. I just think that even the partial eradication of some very important freedoms is a bad thing, something that could lead to problems in the future. Whether it happens to me or not, anyone in this country getting detained for an indefinite amount of time without a lawyer or even hearing the charges against them is wrong.
I know the phrase is as dead of a horse as a bottle of Elmer’s Glue, but this sort of shyte means the terrorists are winning.
Brutus, I don’t know where to stand on you. Sometimes you are incredibly rational. Others you’re an asshole. You say you want a rational debate but your remarks have been snarky and insulting. The best way to start a rational lil chat is by starting one.
do you consider yourself a socialist, Liam?
Harborwolf, I think you’re wasting your time. I seriously doubt Ryan can answer your question as he has proven he doesn’t want a debate, just to argue a stupid point he doesn’t realize he has already lost.

Ya, because those VC all wore the VC uniform and carried VC ID cards and sang the VC anthem made every effort to differentiate themselves from non-combatants. Yep.
Or maybe the CIA should just make sure it’s not someone trying to settle a gambling debt in their favour before running out and shooting folks? Maybe if they had actually hit the targets they were aiming at, multiple military historians and at least one Senate hearing would not have found that the Phoenix program actually helped the VC in their recruiting efforts and ultimately had a large part in the failure of US troops to win the war. Since you won’t bother to actually do some research, let me quote a few things to you (From here)
“I never knew in the course of all those operations any detainee to live through his interrogation. They all died. There was never any reasonable establishment of the fact that any one of those individuals was, in fact, cooperating with the VC, but they all died and the majority were either tortured to death or things like thrown out of helicopters.”…“It [Phoenix] became a sterile depersonalized murder program… Equal to Nazi atrocities, the horrors of “Phoenix” must be studied to be believed.” -Former “Phoenix” officer Bart Osborne, testifying before Congress in 1971
It was a program which resulted in both a refugee problem and greater discontent among the population. The Phoenix program was dangerous, for it was being used against political opponents of the regime, whether they were Viet Cong or not. Phoenix also contributed substantially to corruption. Some local officials demanded payoffs with threats of arrests under the Phoenix program, or released genuine Viet Cong for cash. Some military experts surmised that Phoenix was helping the Viet Cong more than hurting it.
However, fewer than 10% of the casualties attributed to Phoenix operations were actually targeted by program operatives, with most of the remaining casualties being assigned VCI status after they were killed. Efforts by provincial chiefs to meet quotas also led to manipulation of statistics by counting non-VCI arrests, arresting the same person multiple times, and attributing military casualties to the Phoenix program.
Now somehow I think you’d like to reinstate Phoenix as a terrorist-catching tool, but above and beyond the fact that it was a massive failure the first time around, even you must see by now that maybe it wasn’t such a good idea in the first place as it was so prone to corruption and misuse?

Trying to goad Ryaninto some sort of reaction is pretty crass. Not unexpected, since quite a few of your poop-flinging simian comrades have done the same in this thread, but it’s still pretty gauche.
Wow, I guess they are wrong - Americans do understand irony. This is rich, coming from you.

No, we told the Taliban to hand over OBL or else. They chose or else.
Would any other country hand over someone for trial without being presented with some proof that convinced them that it was the right person? The USA had no evidence of OBL’s guilt, but the world press had already announced that he was guilty - after all, Bush said so. For justice to prevail, it can’t be ‘hand this person over **or else’ ** - the accuser surely has to at least present SOME proof of his guilt. Or is this another case where the USA is permitted to make its own rules?
– The Taliban rejects Bush’s ultimatum that it hand over bin Laden until the U.S. can present evidence implicating him in the attacks. Bush administration officials say that is out of the question.
Ahem. Brutus?
It’s okay, I’m waiting to hear your more effective methods of protecting civil liberties, expressing one’s voice, and participating in a representative democracy.
But I think that for some reason protests=bad in your mind, and maybe you’ll bring up the dread Hippie Death Bongos.
Time will tell.
Just to add to what Zombie was saying. The world runs on rules, ones we’re currently flaunting bigtime. Thanks to our bending of the rules, we’ve now taught the world an important lesson. The big guy calls the shots. Anyone that agrees this policy is good for “defending” our country should then agree that any country should be able to do what we’re doing. After all they’re just protecting themselves. So if an American citizen is viewed by China to be dangerous towards them, they should be allowed to swoop right in and take them to an undisclosed location right?
Live by the sword, die by the sword and all that.
Not goading him into shit. He admitted he likes to fuck with people with no prodding from us.
because I cannot get a straight answer outta you lot without it turning it into a ‘lets pile on ryan’ thread. Pretty much what I’ve done with this thread, like turning it from the question of the OP to questioning my actions even though I am just expressing an opinion, you know because my views differs from everyone on the board, thats allowed, its one of the liberties which you profess to loving, adhere to it.

Netherlands where they allow voluntary euthanasia, and sex at age of 14.
And come back when you shave off the facial hair, take some more estrogen. Wow I rose to the bait, like so many other times. You happy?
The Hague commission is like a lion with no teeth. And I don’t think its right to try Americans for war crimes.
