I wouldn’t have found that advert vaguelly interesting had it been done using CG. That is probabley why Honda did it the old fashioned way, the ‘Wow’ factor.
Really? What if you saw it for the first time and didn’t know?
Even if it was CG it would still be a creative and interesting work.
I saw this advert the first time it was broadcast, with a bunch of friends. We ended up arguing for some time about whether it was real or not. If it had then turned out to be CG, it would have been a huge disappointment.
(We didn’t have to wait long to find out - it was featured in the newspapers the very next day)
Maybe I should have qualified my post with ‘after I discovered it was CG’. Yeah it would have been cool to look at but when I discovered it was CG it would be, well, fake in my mind. This is not to discredit the achievments of those who produce stuff using CG but this advert would not have had the ‘oomph’ if it was done on a computer.
