Is this photo scan slanted/tilted

Is there any tilt, scan or irregularity about this scan of a photo? I do not (and will never) have access to the original. Is it in any way crooked looking - did I fuck up?

Looks fine to me.
Adjusting the individual color channels in Photoshop will make it look like new.

This was the photo before I took the edges off:

Looks like the original was a print and hand trimmed.

I don’t think it is tilted but it is narrower in the middle just a tiny bit. How did you trim it? Photo Program?

If worried about it, leave it alone. Looks fine.

Looks fine to me. What makes you concerned that it’s tilted and what’s the end use?
If you can afford to cut off more, you can chop the off the molding on the right side (and trim the left to keep the people centered), which only looks angled because it’s in the background. That, IMO, is what’s giving you the feeling that it’s slanted. But IME it’s probably just you over scrutinizing your own work. Take a step back, look at it a few hours later, have someone else look at it. It’s fine. Spending hours trying to fix everything is what makes things look over processed.

The wall fluting on the left parallels the frame of the picture; the wall fluting on the right is tilted slightly. Artifact of perspective. If those extraneous lines lead you to see the pic as titled, crop 'em out.

As a group portrait, it’s fine.

I can fix the perspective tilt if you’d like. The color as well.

Is this an improvement?

I think so, just for getting rid of the fluting.

ETA: Actually, I don’t like what you’ve done to the color. But that’s just an opinion.

Needs reduction of red and yellow.

Too green.

Here’s my take on it.

Thanks. I liked the last edit the best to be honest. The colors look right for the complexions of the people. This picture was taken at my aunt’s senior prom in May or June of 1967 - whenever her school held the Prom. My grandparents were elected as one of the chaperones by lottery. This picture, along with any others that may exist from that night, is the last of my grandparents together as a married couple. They would separate shortly after when my grandmother learned of my grandfather’s ongoing affair with another woman. Literally perhaps no more than 3 months later at best.

Haha yeah comparing it to beowulff’s edit, you can tell I’ve been watching a lot of David Lynch lately: lots of dark, saturated reds.

Can you re-upload your version please? It’s no longer there.

Looks good to me. However, I did some retouching of my own.

Here you go:

And then I thought, that background is a bit annoying, and those shadows are a bit harsh. So I added a wall.

If someone could photoshop grandpa’s mistress in, I think the pic would be complete.

Yeppers. That looks by far the best to me.
