Yes, and it’s also sexist.
OOh, you just totally burned Eminem.
I don’t know if that last post is supposed to be ironic or a joke or what; I don’t really get it. But Eminem is not a gangsta rapper and never was. He never rapped about gang related shit, not really; he rapped about domestic problems and drug addiction and his family issues and things like that, but he was never about bitches, money, guns and his street rep. That’s just not what he is. A white rapper he may be, but not a white gangsta rapper.
I don’t think the content of the video supports that assertion. As far as I could tell on one viewing, the mugshots of Caucasians (except for Anthony Weiner, whose photo at the end just adds to the surreality of the whole thing) were famous serial killers or perpetrators of especially horrific crimes - I can’t ID all of them, and I’m certainly not going to devote the time necessary to come up with a complete list. But I’m pretty sure I saw the likes of David Berkowitz, Charles Manson, Al Capone, and Leopold & Loeb go by. I’m betting that the other ones were people like Ted Bundy, Richard Speck, and Jeffrey Dahmer.
So implying that “ordinary” black criminals are the same as the mug shots of the white faces shown does seem a bit racist, yes.
Frankly the whole thing is so over the top that I can’t believe it’s for real.
For all the Trusting Thomases out there, keep in mind that the people who aired the video are trying to distance themselves from it.
They’re also accusing the woman who was the target of it as racist because she is making people aware of it and using its existence for fundraising.
So, the stance of the people responsible for the ad is “please put it down the memory hole, but it’s totally not racist”. Their stance is also, however, “letting people know about this ad is racist”. Which is a really impressive contortion considering the ad is totally not racist.
Nice side you’re reflexively defending there.

Apparently, it is the Splack Pack. Well, damn.
I really liked how the ad cast two rather normal, non-scary actors as the scary gangsters. It’s like casting my mild-mannered, clean-shaven, inside the Beltway, normal-to-a-bit-thin self as a Hell’s Angel for a Louis Farrakhan video.
That makes it scary, Ravenman …
Every really good serial killer devil worship cannibal story starts with…
“He seemed like such a nice NORMAL person”
