EGAD!!! We actually talked about jewelry last night. (BTW, just for kicks, at different times yesterday I had her convinved she was getting a crock pot, a vacuum cleaner, and an electric toothbrush. Now she’s gonna have NO idea). Anyway, she was on EBAY showing me jewelry she likes. We ended up looking at diamond “eternity” rings in the $1000 plus range. ACKH! Now, I KNOW that’s not a ton of money for a fancy ring, but let me repeat… ACKH!!!
Neither one of us believe in marriage (evil tool of Satan) but we’ve discussed some kind of ceremony and short-term (year at a time or something) committment. Now I’m starting to think that what I’m picturing in some imaginary future, she’s seeing as a few month. (Double ACKH!!!)
I think it’s pretty. I don’t like or wear much gold jewerly myself. I prefer silver or white gold. And I wear jewerly sparingly. Opal is fine but there is an old wives tale that opal is bad luck to wear if it isn’t your birthstone. You’re safe on this one. I’m 40ish and it is very amusing to see women my age with gold cocktail rings on every finger, diamond tennis bracelet, watch, earrings and gold pendant, usually diamond. They’re just dripping with it. Must they wear their entire collection at once? But I see it all the time…must go with the bleached hair and the T-Bird.
