Is this stated correctly?

Ignoring the logistics, is this sentence written well?

China’s in Africa?

Or is it

China is in Africa?

Either way is correct, as in “He’s a big boy” or “He is a big boy.”

Not to be confused with pi R square. Everyone knows pi R round. Cornbread R square.

[RIMSHOT]

Both are correct English, if incorrect geography.

“China’s in Africa” is a bit less formal, but not incorrect.

If you aren’t a native speaker, there can be come confusion as the possesive typically adds ['s] and adding [is] as a contraction also takes the form of ['s]

Actually, China is in Asia.

But, ironically, Youth in Africa.

It could be a person named China’s in Africa.

Then it would be correct.
