To me, it looks like the shadows are all wrong in the picture. If you look at the guy, you can see his shadow is behind him. It’s particularly easy to see the shadow of his right leg by looking between his legs. So where is the shadow of the pig if they were actually so close together that he had his hand on the pig?
Take it easy there, Olver Stone.
You can see the shadow of the hog’s head to the left of the man’s hip, part of its shadow across his shoulder, and the rest presumably (judging from the positions of the other shadows) falls behind the man.
Incidentally, you can also see the shadow of the arm of the backhoe across the mound of dirt to the left.
Well in this case the old punch-line is true: “You can’t eat a pig like that all at once”.
And pig slop boots…THe only time I see outdoorsie types wearing gloves is when they are dressing out their kill.
I’m making a pitch that he’s got a domestic pig that he slaughtered right there (the guts and blood go in the hole). ALso that would fit in with the position he has it in.
By the way…while its a big boar, I’ve seen similar sized ones at the state fair…And I ain’t even a farmer.
Actually, now I think about it, if that is a trophy shot, wouldn’t he be posing with a gun on his knee?
I skimmed over another discussion about this picture the other day at Fark.com.
Amist all of the jokes, off-topic post, and verbal attacks, there was actually a decent amount of debate and photo analysis going on inside. You can view it here .
You have been warned! It is Fark, and it is not quite as intillectual as SDMB. You may have to dig to find good comments and questions.
