I’m thinking about buying the spare parts to fix the broken earphone jack on my Ipod Touch 2g. Has anyone done this? Any advice? Anything i should think through before doing this?
Just send it back to Apple and have them repair it.
I did it for my 30GB Video iPod and it was pretty easy. The part, and the special tools, only ran about $15 and I didn’t have to go to the trouble of sending it out and waiting for it to get done. Plus, I’m not usually very handy and it made me feel pretty accomplished when I finished and it worked. Worked great and didn’t have any trouble with it afterwards (until it got stolen during a home burglary in July).
