Of course, we probably also don’t know about all of Woods’ affairs, so the ratio might also be greater than 19.
Forwarded for your response:
Dear Shodan:
When was that rule put into place? Did Ken Starr and his supporters know about it?
Sincerely,
Wm. J. Clinton"
It would seem that he is trying to float some trial balloons to see if he can get people to forget his past. So far, people seem to be pointing and laughing, which surely isn’t the reaction he hoped for.
That’s what he wants you to think, but it’s all a scam. When you run for President, you incur a bunch of financial restrictions. Newt announced that he was creating an exploratory website, which means nothing at all, but was designed to sound like he declaring his candidacy.
Some liberal commentator, I forget who, has the very plausible theory that Newt is just doing this to make money. For the last several years, he has been trading on his name, such as it is, sending unsolicited letters to people telling them that they have been awarded some honor by his foundation, and all they have to do to get the official-looking certificate is send him $5000. There was some brief embarrassment when one of the Small Business Awards when to a strip club.
That’s a good use of the passive voice. Rather than claim that Newt was embarrassed – an fact, and indeed a possibility, not in evidence – just say that somebody somewhere was embarrassed.

He took the first step. Why did he , if he is not intending to run.
So, no…you don’t have a cite that he’s officially announced that he’s running. That’s fine…just checking as I hadn’t heard anything official and would be/will be surprised if he officially announces his candidacy.

He’s engaging in all the preliminary work which would be expected preemotory to a run. The fact that he’s left Fox News is a big indication as well, and he’s named a time and place where he will announce “if he announces.” It will be far more surprising if he does not run than if it does. You might think he should know better than to think he’s a viable candidate (and he would not be in a General Election), but he’s got a huge enough ego to delude himself into thinking he will win.
Sure, he might decide to do it based on whatever exploratory committees or whatever he’s formed and whatever the polls and trial balloons say. Or, he might not…until he officially announces he isn’t committed and can always back out and just say he’s opening up a chain of fried chicken restaurants…

He will back out when he finds out he can not win. But he is determined to run and become president . But he will find out that he does not have the backing.
