I knew that nondenominationalism thing was just a phase!
So Trump was a nominal Presbyterian as a child and baked himself that when put in the spot, but now has decided to be less specificand go “non-denominational”. Some might argue that it’s closer to the truth, in that atheist is definitely not a denomination.
There are a lot of people that whatever their nominal denomination, their active religious belief is some vague generic christianity. If you ask them they are Christian and believe in God, but seldom do anything like go to church or even pray. He could be one of those.
But his hubris strikes me as someone who sees religion as a con, the opiate of the masses as it’s been called, and he’s smart enough to see through it, but also smart enough to use it to his advantage.
So shifting non-denominational is just a ploy to let more christians project their particular version into him. It’s a transparent ploy to solidify votes, yet it will probably work.
I’d guess his true denomination is Trumpyterian.
That’s all this latest Xitter post is: he’s been told about another demographic that is inclined not to vote, but who could be persuaded – with the right shibboleth – to come back into the fold.
IMHO.
So you’re saying that he’s “nominally non-denominational”? Can you say that three times fast?
Or more like someone involved with the page thought of it (probably saw it posted in their Nonna’s feed) and said, ah, someone else who the Boss can reach out to.
And I absolutely know some people who’d be impressed by seeing this posted to the account. “Ohhh, with Trump, what I believe in is celebrated! Acknowleged in public! Never mind what he believes, I feel SEEN !”
Has Alexander Karelin been reduced to stealing refrigerators?
Ask Alexander Karelin to name his greatest challenge, and he will tell you about the time he outwrestled a refrigerator that weighed nearly twice as much as he did. Clamping a bear hug on the appliance, the 6-ft. 3-in., 286-lb. Russian hoisted it off the floor. “It was a huge fridge,” he recalls, “and I carried it to my apartment up eight flights of stairs.”
Egotheism. Deification or worship of oneself.
Nobody knew hurricanes could happen in September!
Well in Hertford, Hereford, and Hampshire, hurricanes hardly ever happen.
Nobody thought this would be happening, especially now it’s so late in the season for hurricanes
I know, right? Who would expect a hurricane when it’s still hurricane season?
There was no sharpie!
Some would say PEAK hurricane season.
Here in Kentucky, I’ve been impacted by a hurricane exactly once in my 51 years on this planet.
I think when Trump says he’s non-denominational he isn’t just being vague, he’s referring to this growing movement of nondenominational churches.
This is gift link to an older article, I dint know why I’m not getting a preview. The article title and subtitle are below.
An American Kingdom
A new and rapidly growing Christian movement is openly political, wants a nation under God’s authority, and is central to Donald Trump’s GOP
Assuming Trump can even pronounce “nondenominational”, I guarantee you he has no idea what it means, especially since his understanding of Christianity in general doesn’t seem to be any deeper than “Good boys go to heaven and bad boys go to hell”.
I’m pretty sure that no matter what flavor of Protestant you are, though, that intercessory prayers directed to angels are Papist idolatry.
“We’re going to bring back spirit. You know spirit is a word”
“They wanted to rip down all the buildings in Manhattan and they wanted to rebuild them without windows. Take a look, you got to see the bathrooms. Basically water-free bathrooms, no water”
“Tell heads call the app and tell them where to drum drop the illegal migrants”
Trump is sounding even more deranged than usual today.
“You know, remember their promise to, you know, the education is going to get rid of the student loans. They didn’t get it. They said they were going to get it, but I get what we want. I get 100% of what we want”
“didn’t do the rage, you know, they, they want to do and they’re going to do, no doubt about it, a big way of an increase in age and wage, because what that means is you’re gonna go way up in terms of when you qualify”
“Kamala wants to keep children trapped in family government”
“We’re going to outsource and outscore other public school districts, so they wanna compete against startup by competing against certain public school districts, and I guess that’s a good place to start”
“I think a state like Iowa, Idaho, and, uh, Indiana, I think you’d end up, I was looking at em the other night, looking at em, just common sense, with a party of common sense, and I said more than anything else now, with a party of common sense, because that’s more important than anything else. We don’t want men in women’s sports.”
"
The planet has actually gotten little bit cooler recently. Climate change covers everything. It can rain, it can be dry, it can be hot, it can be cold. Climate change. I believe I really am an environmentalist. I’ve gotten environmental awards"
“The green new scam is one of the greatest… aaaaaaah… most difficult things to be watching”
“With other countries like China, you say it’s 1.4 billion… with us, you don’t really know what the number is. You say how many do we have. Is it 320… Nobody knows.”
I wonder if he’s getting so incoherent that it forced his handlers to pull him out of the 60 Minutes interview?
That was what I was thinking. He used to just sound stupid and egotistical, but now he’s just plain incoherent.
And moreover, he sounds tired. He’s doing two or three gigs a day and it’s wearing him down.
