Is Trump confused?

If Yiddishisms were parr of Loser Donald’s vocabulary we wouldn’t be finding out about it for the first time just now.

Was it Mel Brooks who said he used to think everyone just started speaking Yiddish in their 70s?

One I’ve ended up using (though not Jewish) is verklempt, which was used often in the Mike Myers-era SNL.

Another that’s in my head, from a comedy club I used to frequent in the 1990s, is fakakta.

Also: just think how confused Trump would be at the thought that HIS thread has now changed to a thread about Yiddish words! It would be too bizarre a development to excite his anger—he’d just go catatonic.

Yiddish words are more fun than Trump.

His son in law is Jewish, right? Maybe it’s something Kushner uses? Or other Kushner family members now in the world of trump.

I think trump is showing his age, needing his mid morning nap and his garbled words.

As if Donald talks to his son-in-law or anyone on that side of the family.

It’s a lot likelier that the old man with the broken brain had a broken brain moment than that he suddenly decided to start peppering curse words from a nearly-extinct language into his lexicon at the age of 78 while speaking to a bunch of rednecks (who probably don’t think that highly of Jews in the first place) in flyover country.

This is starting to sound like the people who were convinced that “covfefe” was some secret message he was sending to his followers instead of a misspelling of “coverage” that he fell asleep while typing.

So I’m of the "strategically, he’s not confused… " (look at how he dances around these gag orders) “… but his day-to-day control is getting worse, but fuck, it could just be stress” camp.

Regardless, this weekend, I was at a small party with about 8 guests (including myself) and the conversation turned to Trump. Note: This was not a very political family, at least in the years that we knew them. One of them mentioned his name and the conversation turned to about how bad he was looking. I’m sitting there, saying nothing, enjoying the moment, when I noticed that someone was going to (potentially) refute. So I leaned in and said “you know, no matter what one thinks about the man or his politics… it would be a death sentence to send him back to the White House, so there’s a legitimate case to be made to not vote for Trump for the sake of Trump’s health.”

They all laughed and agreed, the conversation turned, no rebuttals were made (and no reference to Biden’s age was made), and the night went on, peacefully. Except to the 8 voters who now have it implanted in their heads that voting for Trump may, in fact, kill him. Hopefully, they can now spread the word…

The irony is that becoming president would probably be the least stressful future that Trump is facing. He could sleep in, golf as much as he wants, and wouldn’t have to deal with such trifling concerns as being held accountable for his actions. Being president is incredilby stressful if you care about how your decisions will affect America, its citizens, and its future. Take that away and it’s four years of state dinners and helicopter rides.

I do not expect most Trump voters to apply that level of analysis to what you said. You done good.

Oh, great, you found the one argument that might get Democrats to vote for him!

As a lifelong Bostonian with relatively little interaction with Jewish communities, I can say that I use several of those as well. And I’m familiar with pretty much all of them

Does anyone have more information about Trump’s leaning? I have seen memes that state his leaning forward is a symptom of a certain type of dementia. Memes are not good sources of information. Has anyone studied when he started to stand that way? Does it correlate to change in his behavior?

Honestly, I think it is a mixture of stress due to legal things and a small but bigger-than-ever chance of facing consequences, especially if not elected again. And the corroding effects of perpetual anger combined with a lack of appreciation and conscience. And a tough travel schedule. Also, maybe not all of the players are on the field.

But it is not obviously senility. Of course, no president has ever worked to hide or minimize a health problem from the public eye…. Fortunately, Trump aced a MMSE years ago and his doctor proclaims him the fittest man in America. And North America. Probably whatever spiral arm of the galaxy we reside in.

I remember reading an article a year or three ago by, or quoting, a psychologist who said that the leaning posture is one symptom of dementia. I can’t find the article now.

Is it this one?

From the article:

Trump’s forward-listing posture—illustrated by nearly every political cartoonist—was initially attributed to the high-heeled elevator shoes readily observed in photographs. But his torso leans so markedly off-center that it suggests the possibility of a neurological problem rather than vanity. In medical terms, the Bent Spine Syndrome is called camptocormia, first documented in the 17th century by Francisco de Zurbaran, a Spanish painter. The mean age of onset is 65 years (Trump is 74).

While most frequently observed in Parkinson’s Disease, the bent posture so evident in Trump may also be seen in Alzheimer’s Dementia, movement disorders of the basal ganglia, and as the side effect of certain medications.

There is also this long article interviewing Dr. John Gartner, who has been outspoken about Trump’s mental state:

(Trump’s leaning is addressed in the “Motor Performance” section, it’s a very long and detailed article)

Leaning can also be associated with fatigue. We have learned more about the brain since the 1600s. Imbalance is also associated with cerebellar dysfunction, eye and ear problems, some muscle disorders and other causes of dizziness. Parkinson’s is often associated with shuffling gait, muscular rigidity and peculiar things like cogwheeling. If Trump had a shuffling gait it would be well known. He does not.

Not that I’m saying Trump’s brain is copacetic.

If it’s from fatigue then he’s tired all the time.

Quite possibly. Time frame is right, and it says what I vaguely recall.

“it’s a 50 percent tax you’ve imposted on people”

“your policy of electric cars where you want everybody to be mandated electric car”

“I’m very ambidextrous”

“Barron is 17, I’d say”
