Is Trump confused?

Being unwilling to patronize Fox, I don’t know–but I’d guess it’s something to do with today’s news that Trump has agreed to the ABC debate with Harris (on 10 September).

Maybe she’s objected to some new condition Trump has floated?

He’s looking very…is “pink” the right word?

He was orange. He always identified as orange. Now suddenly he’s pink?

The knock on Harris – coming from the Trump campaign, of course – is that Harris hasn’t been taking press questions since becoming the presumptive nominee:

Why Harris isn’t taking questions - Politico

Interesting. I saw her answer press questions when the prisoners landed at Andrews. Anyway, she’s been busy. There will be more time for press questions later.

Well, for one, she refuses to tell anyone whether she’d rather be electrocuted or eaten by a shark.

Or fuck a dolphin/sofa.

Reporter: What did you mean when you said Harris recently decided to become black?
Trump: I didn’t say that, she did

Good grief. And there are still people who are going to vote for this brainless lying traitor?

It’s like the pot calling the kettle - never mind.

Trump: Willie Brown and I were in a helicopter that almost crashed
Willie Brown: I have never been in a helicopter with Donald Trump
Jerry Brown: I was in a helicopter with Trump but it never came anywhere near crashing

‘When did Jerry Brown decide to become black?’ ~ DJT

Tens of millions.

Let that sink in.

The tens of millions have been prepared for this…anyone that would focus on threats to America and white people…for decades. It started under Reagan and went on the whole 2000-2020 period. Fox news did this. And even that was thanks to Reagan. News programs had to allow for the other side to respond, to make it balanced. Aftere Reagan news was not necessarily news.
So it will take more than one election cycle to slightly reduce the MAGA folks number. It will stay there for decades. Perhaps 40% of voters will stay in the MAGA camp till they die.

I’ve seen a lot of clips of his press conference and he looks completely gone.

I heard John Bolton has said that at this point, Trump does not know what is lies and what is truth.

I think he’s confused, insular, and while not clinically insane, he’s way too bonkers(?) to even be mayor of a town.

Very much so. Recall how he has someone follow him around to hand him printed copies of articles and editorials favorable to him. He needs a constant stream of affirmations. His ego is that fragile.

There was this yesterday:

The Hill: Trump says abortions not ‘big factor’ in elections anymore

“I think that abortion has become much less of an issue. It’s a very I think it’s actually going to be very small issue,” Trump said.

He added, “I think the abortion issue has been taken down many notches. I don’t think it’s — I don’t think it’s a big factor anymore, really.”

He truly doesn’t have any idea how big of an issue this is. Another article:

Trump also repeated a false claim that most Americans wanted Roe v. Wade overturned.

Yes, he truly thinks that the public is happy about that.

In fact, polls consistently show that about two-thirds of Americans opposed the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe, which ended the federal right to abortion.

It’s difficult to say how much of what he portrays on issues like this are due to cognitive impairments, or if he’s being shielded from negative opinions, or if he actively chooses to ignore anything he doesn’t want to hear. Maybe a combination of those things.

I actually forgot that his handlers follow him around with only positive articles and news about his public perception.

That’s just plain bizarre.

I have no more words other than to lament how we got into this situation.

I’ve always thought that Trump just has no qualms about lying. Most humans talk as a means of conveying information. We ask questions and share ideas in order to learn things and connect with others. That’s not why Trump talks. He uses words to try to manipulate people. He tells them what he wants them to believe. On some level, he probably knows it’s not true, it just doesn’t matter to him.

If he ever takes questions again, someone should ask him point blank, “Willie Brown says he was never in a helicopter with you, do you have evidence to the contrary?”

He’ll just claim he never said that.
