Is Trump's pettiness over Megyn Kelly going to hurt him [plus Ramos incident]

Ignorant about your hero’s ideas then.

And important, you do not want such a guy to get a hold of the biggest bully pulpit that is the office of the presidency and:

If you had paid attention before you would know that I do dismiss and criticise any liberal that is against vaccines too, and yes, as you do not pay attention check what “liberal” media I did choose for the cites.

They are also:
[ul]
[li]lower income bracket[/li][li]mid-western[/li][li]rural, non-college educated[/li][li]middle-aged[/li][li]don’t care about the environment[/li][/ul]
– all of that from your cite – yeah, that perfectly describes “liberal”!

Take it up with the Pew Research Center. They are pretty well regarded. And they found that “60% of anti-vaxxers describe their political leaning as liberal”.

Again, I don’t give then any importance and in the last outbreak it was the very conservative area or Orange county California that was in the news.

Regardless, unless you can point at a current Democrat that is as stupid as Trump is, you are just going for a Red Herring. I will not vote for any liberal that is against vaccines, and no democrat or republican that accepts science should support Trump.

The pollsters are right so far, Trump is as high as it is thanks to low information voters. IOW, ignorants.

Oh, I know about that. I don’t agree with Trump on a lot of things. I still like him better than any politician running. And so do many, many people.

You and others don’t get it. People are starting not to care what the politicians that are running in the elections say. Because it is widely known that the politicians will say anything and everything to get elected, and what they say has no relation whatsoever to what they do or do not do once elected.

It is sad when your leading candidate is considered dishonest and untrustworthy by 61% of voters. And the top three words voters think when they hear your candidate’s name are: “liar”, “dishonest” and “untrustworthy”. Top three! That’s just pathetic.

And yes - the top three words for Trump are: “arrogant”, “blowhard” and “idiot”. But “honest” is 6th for Trump, whereas for Hillary it is not even in the top 25.

As I said, low information is preferred.

And still in the general election any of the possible democrats is bound to win.

BTW The vaccine issue is not as unimportant as you want to make it, more people are bound to die if a twisted guy like Trump gets access to the CDC. And he will be very influential on what many people will do regarding vaccines. One needs to stop supporting a bullshit artist that can kill people.

Penn and Teller on Vaccinations

And being an anti-vaccer is only one dumb thing Trump believes that has very public implications. We have barely started on the high number of targets/skeletons that Trump has.

Really? Trump can detect the difference in accents of native Spanish speakers when they speak English? Please tell how he would know? Mexican? Puerto Rican? Cuban? Colombian? Chilean? Spaniard?

That’s a very specific answer to what I had intended as general question. What do you think about Fox News,** in general**, not just specifically related to the recent debate, and the Kelly / Trump issue?

In other words, you made this quote earlier:

Under these terms, do you feel that Fox News does “report the news”? Do you feel that they include all the facts? Do you feel that your description of “a political activist” does not generally describe Fox News?

PS – I did not hear that about CNN, but I don’t care; CNN jumped the shark several years ago, and I no longer feel I can take them seriously.

You’re citing National Review in support of your assertion that Ramos isn’t a journalist. Yet you’re clear that they’re not journalists, just political activists. So since we can’t trust them to report honestly, guess that kills your cite.

And your cite too.

Maybe you don’t understand the concept. Lobbyists are hired guns. Any evidence that Ramos is advocating for illegal aliens because they are paying him to do so?

‘This is the way it is, because I said so.’

Gotcha.

Can’t see why not. With the activist/reporter, his biases are out in the open, and it’s easy for anyone to judge the effect his beliefs might be having on his reporting.

The problem with ‘view from nowhere’ ‘unbiased’ reporting is that the biases of the mainstream journalistic class are still quite real, and have a very pronounced effect on their reporting, but their biases are unstated, so the average reader doesn’t know what sort of bill of goods they might be selling him as ‘reporting.’

Getting back to Trump, is there a transcript of Palin’s interview of him anywhere? I gave up after just a few minutes of watching, but even in that time there were a bunch of obvious falsehoods and key omissions - and damned if Palin has gotten way more birdbrained than she was in 2008 - yeah, I know, how the hell is that possible? But I swear, it’s true.

I watched the whole thing. At least she doesn’t appear drunk.

But I did just waste 10 minutes of my life.

I chuckled when I saw this but I wonder if the Trumpians would turn on him if he said something like this: “Jesus is a hero because he was crucified. I like Messiahs who don’t get crucified.”

That’s why I like Obama. All the Messiah and none of the crucifixions.

I don’t know if this is the right thread for it or not, but Donald Trump is getting some endorsements: Meet The Members Of Donald Trump’s White Supremacist Fan Club

I honestly don’t know how much this will hurt him though. I know that if a candidate I was interested in was endorsed by racist group, or other hate groups, it would give me major pause. But I don’t know if people will overlook it or just not care.

Several in the alternative media that I check in times like this are not amused, by the right wing media specially, for overlooking things like this so while the ones that do want to be informed this will have some effect. For the low information voters this will slide like water on the back of a duck. (Low information voters = ignorants, and in large part thanks to the sources they use.)

As I noticed in another thread the fact that Trump joined Arpaio to his hip has been basically ignored by the reporters, and when one remembers how tenuous some connections were with radical groups the media made scandals in the past about Obama the omission now by the talking heads not dealing with those connections Trump is actually making is noted by many human right groups and specially minorities like the Hispanics.

We already know that Trump got buddy buddy with Arpaio very recently even though the courts declared that indeed he did abuse the rights of legal residents and citizens and he is now in court for his contempt for not following the court orders and sending private investigators to find dirt on the judges (that are active on his case now!) to get them dismissed.

On top of that the Phoenix News Times has noted how Arpaio has been looking at more than just endorsements from Neo Nazis.

And that was noted years ago, Trump is indeed a willful ignorant unfit to be president if he is so clueless about the people he is seeking for support (and some do worry that they are being check by Trump for his future cabinet) or that he knows already the kind of guys he is looking for support and that he does not care.

This is what is so concerning about his run; even the Republican party machine hacks are worried about it.

He is like a gateway drug for active racism. By making this kind of bigotry “acceptable” for the mainstream, he is giving the white supremacists direct access to influence the low information ignorant voters.

This is why all the bullshit was being flung about Ramos. Any reporter who brings this to light needs to be discredited. Look at what was said to Ramos after he was escorted out (“Get out of my country!”). Trump’s remark “Go back to Univision!” was the dog whistle for that sentiment. There are people with swastika tattoos and Nazi paraphernalia at all these rallies mixing with the other supporters. And it’s taking hold:

“He has my vote,” Karen Mayer, a sixty-one-year-old human-resources manager, told me. Already? “Already,” she said. Her husband, Bob Hazelton, nodded in agreement. I asked what issue they cared about more than any other. “Illegal immigration, because it’s destroying the country,” Mayer said. I didn’t expect that answer in New Hampshire, I remarked. She replied, “They’re everywhere, and they are sucking our economy dry.” Hazelton nodded again, and said, “And we’re paying for it.”

This is in New Hampshire, not Alabama. More:

When the Trump storm broke this summer, it touched off smaller tempests that stirred up American politics in ways that were easy to miss from afar.

On June 28th, twelve days after Trump’s announcement, the Daily Stormer, America’s most popular neo-Nazi news site, endorsed him for President: “Trump is willing to say what most Americans think: it’s time to deport these people.” The Daily Stormer urged white men to “vote for the first time in our lives for the one man who actually represents our interests.”

From Richard Spencer, director of the National Policy Institute, and “white identitarian”:

“Trump, on a gut level, kind of senses that this is about demographics, ultimately. We’re moving into a new America.” He said, “I don’t think Trump is a white nationalist,” but he did believe that Trump reflected “an unconscious vision that white people have—that their grandchildren might be a hated minority in their own country. I think that scares us. They probably aren’t able to articulate it. I think it’s there. I think that, to a great degree, explains the Trump phenomenon. I think he is the one person who can tap into it.”

Trump is no innocent when it comes to abetting racism. He has a history of racist shenanigans going back to the 80’s. I dealt with it firsthand when I worked with his bldg mgmt. He knows what he is doing.

And speaking about an example of who is supporting Trump:

Via The Young Turks:

Trump Supporter Tells US Citizen “Get Out Of My Country”

Oh No! Stop the presses! Someone in the audience told the rude asshole Ramos to get out of the country. Dozens of people are now clutching their pearls and suffering from “the vapors”.
