Is University all that its cracked upto be?

If you’re a loner before college, be prepared to be a loner while enrolled there. My only “friends” are my coworkers and the international students who are currently my physics lab partners. But if you’re not a loner you’ve got nothing to worry about. My sister has made tons of friends since starting at her small, private liberal arts college. (She’s got a full scholarship, too. Damn that bitch and her crazy voodoo “hard work” and “good personality”.)

My advice? Don’t listen to the people who tell you to study what you enjoy. S’far as I can tell, that’s a bunch of BS. If you can handle the mathematics and science then study engineering. Not only will you have specific skills with which to get a nifty, well-paying job after you graduate, it won’t keep you from studying whatever you want later on - I’ve known engineers with graduate degrees in philosophy (one of the finest philosophy professors I’ve had, too), English, mathematics, economics, medicine. The president of my university is a very successful electrical engineer.

If you can’t cut it in engineering, don’t fret; study accounting. If you’re insane, try architecture or pharmacy. The job outlook for pharmicists is very nice.
