Have any women dieted while still drinking wine. I know it says that there are 160 calories on the bottle for an 8 oz glass, but what are everybodies experiences in dieting while still having a glass of wine? I doesnt look fattening. In particular, I would like to know if people have dieted while still taking wine, and while not drinking wine, and if there was that much of a difference.
Well, there’s a 160 calorie difference.
If you drink a glass of wine then you’ll have to omit 160 calories from somewhere else in your diet.
Wine has a bad rap, IMHO. Please note that not drinking at all is a risk factor for developing diabetes. Alcohol’s role in blood sugar metabolism is complex, but JAMA stated recently that a small amount of wine, for those who are able to drink without developing alcohol-related problem behaviors, increases insulin sensitivity. This means that your cells require less insulin to use glucose from your meal. Less insulin => less fat.
If you try to cut out something you can’t live without, your diet won’t be a success. I’m sure that a glass of wine or two, if you include them in your calorie count, won’t ruin the whole program.
Is it just wine, or any alcoholic beverage?
G’day
I know this isn’t exactly the information you asked for, but it is what I have.
I have lost 18 kilogrammes (40 lb) in the last 18 weeks by following a low-carbohydrate diet with regular moderate exercise and drinking a glass of wine with dinner every night. I don’t bother to count calories or kilojoules, just grammes of carbohydrate.

yes you can lose weight while still drinking…I lost 40 pounds…mix it with Diet 7 up… it lasts longer…the big danger is that when you drink you lose your concentration and tend to eat more!!! It is all math…your body doesnt know the difference…calories are calories… but you have to do something you can live with if you want long term results…Drink a little, eat a little less…exercise…good luck
