Is your dog a Star like mine?

Maybe. All our puppers are stars. I’m sure

But, Bayliss has a starring role.

Here’s the story:

The Lil’wrekker starred as Elle in Legally Blond, the musical. Very nicely, I might add. (not to brag too much).

Our Chihuahuas were tried out as Bruiser the Chihuahua in the play. Unsuccessfully. Butch hated it, snapped and yipped at everyone and took a pee on a set piece. The Kid barked (screamed)constantly.

They were cut.

A few other live dogs were tried. A puppet was tried. They settled on a fake dog. The Lil’wrekker worked that prop. She squeezed all she could from it. I believe it was ok.

Well, they were asked to revive it for 4 more performances. The last night they are doing a show case. The leads are all performing a song in their repertoire.

The Lil’wrekker is performing “Wind beneath my Wings”

God I hate that song. She’s been rehearsing it not stop. Everytime Bayliss hears the music he runs to her.

Seems he loves the song. She came to me and said “watch this Ma” started singing the song and Bayliss runs over and sits squarely in front of her looking all love-dovie. A look of pure bliss on his face.

Occasionally working his mouth like he’s singing too.

She asked and they said she can bring him on stage that night and sing to him. He’s going to rehearsal tomorrow and see how he actually does on stage. He’s such a steady reliable dog I know he’ll do great.

My dog Really is gonna be a star.

(Maybe he can drive my car  )

Subscribing for the update on this one!

Bayliss is a real winner for sure. You’re so lucky to have him! I’m sure he’ll do great in the show!

Your description here reminds me of the dog performance videos I’ve seen on America’s Got Talent and similar shows. Dogs can be trained to do amazing things, but what all the performances had in common was the dog(s) looking up at the master with such overwhelming eagerness to please and anticipation of doing the right thing that it’s just heartwarming.

I am gonna update his play list. I’m not sure I can tolerate that song forever.

Home rehearsal is going fine.

She turned to one side and he hopped over to that side following her face.

So sweet.

 my doggy may have a new career.

Look us up in Hollywood. We’ll be lying by the pool, soaking up rays.

Atta Boy!

Offering for day work:

Nice tricolor medium sized dog. Good attitude. People pleaser. Treat beggar.

Loves children and all other animals. (Except squirrels, sorta has true hate in his heart). Pays attention to music. Moves around in a uncanny rhythm. Possibly learned while motivating thru the kitchen at meal times.

Not afraid of most people (there was that one guy, but I agreed with him on that one).

Loud noises and dancing around are right down his alley.

Yep. He’s the dog you want.

Will work for bones and top credits.

See my agent.

Are you Sirius?

Report:

He did great on stage. Son-of-a-wrek drove him over. He says Bayliss got all kinds of loves and skritches from the crew and rehearsing folks.

When my daughter went out he heeled nicely. Looked up at a light and waited on the music. Did it beautifully. One little bark when she petted him at the end.

Star! I’m telling y’all!

Make him a “Love You” button and get him to press it at the end!
:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

He has “Love you”. That’s a cute idea.

The event occurred last evening.

Here’s the low down:

The Lil’wrekker is not a dog person. She tolerates mine fairly well..she says if Bayliss was human she’d probably like him. Well, duh! He’s kinda perfect.

He’s tailless..which can be a fault. But he wags his butt so adorably..it’s easy to look past.

She had to let him relieve himself when they got to the theatre. She bribed a kid to pick it up. $5.

That kinda grossed her out. The poop, not the $5.

But it came their time to perform. The applause startled him at first. She gave him a treat. So he was paying attention to her. The music came on and he assumed his position. Looking at her with a look of pure love while she sang. He propped one front paw up as she sang. And got a smattering of applause. But he never quit looking at her.

The rousing applause at the end made him bark like an idiot. He was clearly happy. Wagging that butt all around the front of the stage.

She said it ever the hook to pull an act off the stage was needed, this was it. She did get him off stage.

It was a great success. I don’t see her doing it again though. She was alarmed at the poop incident. :poop:

Thanks for the rehearsal report and the show report. So hearwarming! Congrats to Bayliss the Star!

Also, Bayliss the Attention-Seeker!

Atta Boy!

He strutting around today like we serve him only. (And we do)

He’s such a good dog.

I’m making a button, “no autographs, please” :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Things have calmed down. Mid-dau was walking them this morn as I have dialysis. I grabbed Bayliss’ face and told him he was my star but not let it go to his head.

Then he flopped on the floor for a quick belly skritch. His tongue lolling out, drooling alittle. He looked more like my dog and less like a star on the stage. I knew he was back down to earth.

I don’t know what I’d do without him. He moors me, he watches out for me.

I never knew, or thought I wanted a dog when he appeared out of the ether one spring morning. Like a spirit. His magic swarmed into my heart.

And he did appear like magic. And has just been a right joy.

@Gatopescado was telling me I needed a dog. A guard dog, a medical alert type dog. One smart enough to learn what I needed from this animal.

I said flippantly, “you find one send him to me”.

He says watch for it to come. Named him beforehand. It was very silly text string. Right up until Bayliss appeared on my Deck. Very soon after. Unbelievably, I know, the next morning.

So there you have it. That’s how I got the most perfect dog, a veritable star. Now an actual star.

My sweet Bayliss.

@Beckdawrek, I love the authenticity in the way you write. All the best to you and the magical Bayliss!

I named him afterward.

I think I’ll argue that point Gato.

Don’t make me search the text, find the time stamp… coordinate that with my Dope postings and prove you to be in error.

You know I can do it.

So “hush yo mouf”

ETA…just suspend disbelief for once. Think with your magic brain not the practical side. I choose to believe it was magically done, so it was. Of course. Cause I always win.
