The webcam on my wife’s computer wasn’t working yesterday. She took it to the university’s IT (nice perk) today and they were able to verify that the camera itself
works but won’t interact with Skype, Panopto, etc.

Ever since I read that it is technically possible to switch laptop cameras on remotely, I have a neat piece of black tape stuck over the lens.

I have an eclipse glass set over mine. I’ve just checked and my camera still works.

I have a USB plugin webcam on my desktop tower, used it Wednesday night, seemed fine.* But then, for some reason, neither of my windows 10 machines seem to have gotten the anniversary update yet!

  • (Well, once I first figured out where the webcam itself had fallen when it mysteriously fell off the top of my computer monitor, and then hit the button to actually turn it on in google hangouts… :wink: )
