With the exception of the so-called “religions of the book” – that is, ISIS’ version of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity – ISIS wants to kill non-believers and apostates and enslave their women and children. This means that all of the Shiites, Yazidis, Hindus, Atheists and Polytheists are supposed to die, and that hundreds of millions of people would be eliminated in the course of this “ethnic cleansing”.
Additionally, all of the moderate Muslims approving of democracy are supposed to be killed, as they – from ISIS’ point of view – put human laws above God’s laws. Upon successful conquest of the West, this would also apply to democratically-minded Muslims here.”

And I want a pony. The “hundreds of millions of people” is a bit stange though. Certainly we’re talking billions.

If ISIS was offered the opportunity to take over the world, and forcibly convert everyone to their sect, I’m sure they wouldn’t turn it down, and that may be their eventual long range goals, but in their short to medium term they will probably be satisfied with uniting all of the countries in the middle east region and northern Africa, under a single united Muslim Caliphate following their specific interpretation of the Koran. For right now their interest in the United States for the most part is only to the extent that we interfere with their local goals.

Not that this is a good idea, but if we stopped fighting them over there (and also stopped supporting their opponents such as Israel and Saudi Arabia) then it is unlikely that they would fight us here.

Wouldn’t the term “theocide” indicate that they intend to actually kill a god, rather than simply killing the followers of a religion?

Not that I entirely disagree with you, but if they achieve their short/medium term goals, what’s stopping them from pursuing their long term goals?

Yeah it was too late to edit when I realised that wasn’t the word I wanted. I didn’t want “genocide” as it’s a word with broad meaning, but couldn’t think of any other off hand.

You thought genocide had too broad meaning to deal with “kill everyone that doesn’t’ subscribe to an Abrahamic worldview?”

They’re an Apocalyptic organization. They claim at least to believe that they are helping bring around the End Times. Of course, different prophecies and version of God than the American apocalyptics (ie, the radical ‘Christian’ Right, who support Israel for pretty much the same exact 'bring about the End Times reasoning), but same game. They’re just more serious about it than the Shout In Your Face (but then go have a beer) lazy assed Americans.
