It is now 4 degrees Celsius.
This morning it was 0.1 degree- the second coldest on record.
This stinks.

I had no idea it could get that cold in Australia. Are you in the very south?
Celsius so by Fahrenheit it was about 40 and the low was about 30.
It never snows here, but we dress accordingly.
(I am in Perth West Australia. It is not too far south )
Yeah, I got that it was celcius. I don’t think of 40F as being all that cold for winter, but 30F is getting there. at about 25 it gets truly unpleasant for me.
Last December I was hanging out with my family in Florida. We spent several hours at a zoo which was mostly outdoors. By the time we got back to the car everyone was stamping their feet and rubbing their hands together and complaining how bitterly cold they were. Thank god my brother in law packed us a thermos of coffee! Freeeeeeeezing! Then I found out the temperature. It was 53F. Yes, I made fun of my family for being wimps. My niece I can understand because all she’s ever really known was Florida. But my sister and parents? We grew up in upstate New York, and before that we were in Iowa. They should know from cold!
>insert comment here that demonstrates one misunderstands global warming<
Invariably happens with every cold spell somewhere. Figured I’d be proactive.
Hope I didn’t sound patronising but some folks don’t initially get the difference.
I am initially from Brisbane which is a bit more tropical so this is pretty cold to me. Not just that it is cold but that all my clothing is for slightly warmer weather.
A decade of being on message boards has taught me to pick up pretty quickly which is which. I can usually tell without looking at a location field where someone is located by their complaint about temperature.
I do remember one summer complaining of the local heat. It was about 101F. A friend from Sydney had no idea what that meant, and wondered if us New Englanders were just being pussies. When I said that that was more than 38C, she accepted that yeah, it was pretty toasty here.
It gets well over 100 here in the summer- 110 is not unknown. The climate is sure variable.
Even more so as I had a fight with the cats and have been banished to the unheated part of the house.
I do have beer.
Do you all drink your beer warm, like the British?
Oh hell no. It has to be icy cold. And for that reason, in summer, in pubs, you buy smaller glasses of beer.
I would trade with you in a heartbeat! As long as there isn’t much snow, give me cold weather!
