It seems I'll be having a long-distance relationship

As other posters have indicated, communication is absolutely vital. My wife and I (she was my fiance then) were on opposite sides of the planet for about 18 months.

Net2Phone was our friend, as we were able to talk cheaply any time we wanted. If you have an important topic, though, use a regular phone to minimize cut-outs and misunderstandings.

Best of luck to you!

Well, thanks to everyone offering advice. I will most definately keep it in mind.

I was actually looking to come back to the Twin Cities area, even before I met him. There are several companies in my industry, and I have several friends here, as well. So rubes, I really don’t need more excuses

4, maybe 5 hrs-peice of cake. My sig other is 8 times zones away for another two months, that sucks.

We talk on yahoo chat every weekend morning. Phone cards are cheap too. You’ll make it. And from the sounds of it, there has to be better industries and job opportunities in Minn/StP than Mad. Good luck.

:wally :stuck_out_tongue:

Nope. 269 miles, or about 4 hours, according to Mapblast. “Easily doable,” says the Voice of Experience. Hell, I leave can Toledo Fridays after work at 5PM and still make it to NW Chicago in time for a late dinner—about 280 miles. Of course, I get an hour of my time back in Indiana.

This cannot be stressed enough.

Errr…Unless you’re related to the aforementioned dog or fish, I’m pretty sure it’s beastiality.

Funny, I entered a relationship about a month ago knowing full well he’s leaving in October, and therefore purposefully have kept it quite casual. I really think I’d be horrid at the long distance thing. I worry that I’ll be more upset when he leaves then I’m expecting, but we shall see. Good luck, easy e.

Good luck easy e.
It can be tough, but a long distance relationship can work out.
Good luck.

“Good Luck” . . .

This is why I hate getting attached to anyone anywhere in the country. I can’t guarantee where the hell I’ll be at any given time. I simply can’t do Long Distance Relationships, and despite what people tell me, I refuse to do them too . . .

Tripler
Call me a hardassed SOB.

I didn’t start this relationship with the intention of continuing it after I moved. But I didn’t eliminate it as a possibility, either.

I don’t know how it will work out, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see.
