It was a dark and stormy morning - an MMP

Wow, swampy, round rubber thingys and mopheads! Aren’t you blessed?

The breakfast place was busy - two huge groups got there just before me. Luckily, I called my order in.

It’s really windy now. The windmill thingys at Adobe were spinning round and round. Usually they don’t move much.

AC will be staying with our group. Deep sigh. However, she’s been assigned to all senior managers. AC is delirious with joy because she thinks she’s finally going to have it easy; however, senior managers on the partner track bear more than a passing resemblance to rabid wolverines, so this should be interesting.

It’s going to be a long day - we have an all-hands meeting this afternoon and it’s scheduled to last until 7. I’m hoping most of that is schmooze time, so I can leave before then. And if it’s raining, I’m driving, dammit, and I’ll expense my parking, too, so there!

btw - who’s got next week? has anyone stepped forward? I think we should volunteer one of the newer cool kids, like **Jahdra ** maybe?

Well, I could be Rachel’s mom, I suppose.

Actually X11 is a GUI framework fairly common on UNIX systems. It comes up quite a bit on my Mac as many open source programs use it.

In lieu of something witty or insightful here is something confusing; if you look quickly enough you may be able to convince yourself that it is in fact quite deep: Some people say truth is endless, but perhaps it is a seasonal allergy that must be cultivated and pruned before the sun shrivels it up.

Load of whites in the washer, I just finished eating an apple, and I’m about to make FCD’s B-day cake. I’ve got poke chops thawing for dinner.

When did I get so organized??

Spats -I am so sorry. She’s sounds like a jerk, though. You need someone who can appreciate you…better luck next time.
Onions are negotiable, that’s all I’m saying. Raw onions are not and do not belong on any food, period. This is the law.

I am sitting here, not doing my paper. I did some of it, but I need to do some basic research reading that looks to be horribly boring, so I’m not doing it. Just call me Scarlett O’Hara…fiddle dee dee.

Glad everyone who had surgery/wasn’t feeling well is feeling better.

MBG -makes flipping the bird seem like child’s play, no?

Did you know there’s a real romance novel called Bag, Bad & Barbaric? It’s about a secret neo-Viking civilization hidden below Alaska. I ran across it doing book orders a couple of days ago. I am not making this up.

“Tracking her friend to rural Alaska, Holly finds photographs of oddly clothed, heavily muscled men- the same men who are now after her! Struggling to stay one step ahead of her pursuers, Holly is determined to escape… can she resist the passion that sparks in her hunter’s eyes?”
Falls about laughing

I thought it was only the Nazis that had a secret below-ground civilization. And the evil shape-changing space lizards.

Quick drive through, between work and hockey. We got a present at work from the DM today: 50 cases of assorted junk from a store up the road. Not only that, the manager made each box a separate transfer instead of one big one. Do you know how long it’s gonna take to scan in 50 boxes(Hint: Our server is Dope slow, plus it’s satellite so an extra 46k mile trip for each byte sent).

Spats, sorry about the girl(her loss, anyway)\

taxi, see, I told you. Enjoy the rest.

LiLi, we should do a cat swap! Then every MMper would know whose cat is merely annoying, and which cat is Lector style crazy. My mom hate peppers like that. She even picks them out of her food at restaurants(I can’t take her anywhere  )

MBG, was he the kingpin, or “other”?

Laundry in the dryer, cake in the oven, poke chops coated and waiting for the oven, N.O.Tater Tots waiting for toaster oven, peas-n-carrots waiting for microwave, dishwasher emptied. **FCD ** just drove into the garage.

Life is good!

Happy Thursday, folkses.

I got adventurous today and actually cleaned my oven, as well as burner rings and greasy circles under the rings. Aren’t you proud of me?

Tonight we’re eatin’ healthy. Chef salads, with grilled sesame/ginger chicken and pork tenders. And boiled eggs! Will that be enough for my meat-lovin’ men? We’ll see.

Ok, I’ll go on Monday. Actually, Sunday evening, otherwise it will be Monday afternoon for most of you. I think I have something suitable.

Granddaughter continues to improve. Another visit to the pediatrician this morning, followed by a visit to a pediatric dermatologist. She is not as lethargic anymore. They are trying to find out if the cause was the antibiotic or the MMR vaccine she received two weeks ago. Would an allergic reaction to a vaccine take two weeks to show up? And she is showing signs of the ear infection coming back. Poor baby. Keep pedaling, Orphelia, please.

I’m not gettin’ kitty kisses from anyone. Hope all this calms down in a day or so. Mr. SCL chickened out and went to the river under the pretense of getting the boat and jetski prepared for winter. Yeah, right. Chicken. bwaka bwaka

I voted, and since early voting was held at the library I bought 4 new books at the used book store.

Time to clean the litter boxes. I lead such an exciting life.

She’s a jerk and a major flake. And all of you who said she’s not worth it are absolutely correct.

So what you’re saying is that frankly, you don’t give a damn?

Onions are good stuff. But I’m with rigs on the raw ones. Onions should be sauteed or made into onion rings. I’m looking forward to the Jahdra MMP.

It is 5:45 P.M. and I want to go to bed. I’m a tahred bear!

Yay for Jah [del]being shoved forward[/del] volunteering to do next week’s MMP.

Dinner was yummerrific. Laundry is folded. Cake is iced. FCD’s car is back in the body shop to get a few little things taken care of, so he’s got a rental again - a LINCOLN-FREEKIN’-TOWNCAR!!! It’s longer than my van!!

Oh yeah - I found out today who my boss is gonna be. I am pleased - I’ve worked with Al before and we get along just fine. So yay! Now, if only they tell me where I’ll be sitting and when I’ll be moving. Guess I’ll find out soon enough.

I want cake, but it’s not his b-day yet. Oh well…

Yikes, the office is overflowing. And noisy! Everybody’s here for the all-hands (they finally got around to announcing that the office is closing at 4 at 3:15) and are starting to wander over to the Fairmont. Hmm. Should I walk or drive? It’s undecided outside. I could use the exercise, so I’ll walk. The Fairmont used to have this yummy baked Brie with raisins and nuts, I wonder if we are going to get the good appetizer trays for this? Yum, food at the Fairmont is usually pretty good.

Tireder than your average bear?

Someon stop me–I am eating all the Hershey minis…or perhaps I could audition for land whale…

Off to class–bad thing about online classes: no cute guy to carry my books.

Winter has come to Orygun. Rain, rain, and more rain. Highs in the 50s. I’m trying to find a place giving flu shots. I always seem to find out about it the day after.
Our little town has Halloween downtown and we gave out ~1300 pieces of candy at the store in an hour and a half. Then we locked the doors and cowered in the back room. Actually we locked the doors and went across the street to the Panaderia for dinner.

Rigs, stop that! Give those minis to me right this instant young lady!

I don’t remember anything that happened upthread except Spats apparently tangling with A Certain Type Of Young American Female[sup]TM[/sup]. Run away Spats!

That’s all I’ve got.

We were seduced by the wonderfulness of early birthday cake. It was YUMMMMM!

Something told me you two wouldn’t be able to hold out. ::snicker::
