It was a dark and stormy morning - an MMP

well, you do add a certain *colour * to the printed word

Oh, that’s just my natural charm! But so kind of you to notice…

It was a dark and frosty morning here. Actually, what I had all over my vehicle was frozen rain, along with frost. Yep, first time I’ve had to warm up my vehicle since I got it in May.

Temps will “warm up” to high forties today.

Today’s plans for call for working my hiney off, since I will be off work tomorrow. I have another meeting with my boss this morning to go over some data I pulled for him.

When I get home, I need to make sure I vaccuum, do some more laundry, cook dinner, and get to bed fairly early, because I need to get up at 3:00 am. MIL has to be at the hospital by 5:00 am, and we are taking her. She lives about 10 or 15 miles away from us, so we need to make sure we’re out of the house NLT 3:50 am.

Last night’s dinner was terrific! The beef burgundy was outstanding, as was the freshly baked bread. The ice cream was good too.

You rang?

Great story so far, rosie. I eagerly await the rest. And yes, I want to go to that restaurant where you get free books.

Welcome to all of those new and returning to the MMP! Johnny L.A., you get a cookie for making me laugh.

For the record, there is a band in the Albany area called the Mathematicians. Their lead singer is Al Gorithm.

It’s a bright and sunny morning here too. It’s so nice to see the sun after a couple gray and overcast weeks.

We went to the zoo again yesterday. It was just so nice out that we wanted to do something outdoors, and we’re members of the zoo so it’s free to go and watch the animals. We had fun.

Yesterday **KeithT ** made some slow cooker Mexican beef stuff that we have sometimes, and it was really really good with peppers and onions and corn and two kinds of salsa and some sour cream. Mmmmmmm!

I think work’s going to be a little less crazy this week than last. I hope! I’m only here today and tomorrow because on Wednesday I’m going to get surgeried. It’s very minor but I have to have general anesthesia so I’m taking the rest of the week off to recover from that. I haven’t told too many people IRL about this because it’s a girl-parts thing and I don’t want to have to explain it to everyone. (But we’re way past worrying about TMI here!) I would appreciate some online good thoughts/vibes/prayers/whatever since I’ve never had general anesthesia before and I’m a little worried about that part. Thanks in advance.

If you do, be sure to order the sweet potato fries. They’re the best thing I’ve ever eaten in my life. That restaurant is just about the halfway point between where I live in NJ and where my friends live in Maine. Every now and then, we’ll all take a four-hour drive and meet for lunch. The lady who owns the place is totally cool with us just sitting on her lawn for five hours and chatting. She thinks it’s fantastic that we drive so far for lunch, and picked her place.

taxi, I’ll certainly keep you in my prayers. Taking a few days off after general anesthesia is a good idea. You might feel alright sitting around, but it can suck all the energy out of you.

The cat just hornked again, right into her food dish. Brundlecat, anyone?

It was a dark and not stormy morning when I got up around 5 ayem. But it turned into a bee-utiful morning by the time I left to drive into work. I love Fall in Flawduh! We’re supposed to hit a delightful 83 Murkin degrees today.

rosie, whoa, flash-from-the-past on the Sheraton. I onced lived up that way and drove the Pike on a daily basis. I’d forgotten about that stretch though.

My vertigo is all but gone, thank Og! I hope I don’t get another bout but I understand it is likely. :stuck_out_tongue:

I made stuffed bell peppers for dinner on Saturday and they were nummers.

Everybody got their Halloween [del]ransom[/del] candy?

Tupug

Nope, we’re out on Hallowe’en night scaring the locals in fab Rocky Horror costumes. I did manage to find ten minutes to get my Hallowe’en tree put up on Sunday though. Ophelia already thinks it’s a new and improved cat toy.

Doggy, will swap you for a small white hellfiend…

It’s a bright and sunny morning here as well. And very warm! High of 80F expected today.

RenFest pictures! There’s a bunch of them there - 48, I think.

Here’s our group. I’m the one in purple, my husband next to me, Marc and Joyce on the other side.

What a great birthday weekend! It was so much fun. I had a couple of beers, even though I’m not supposed to drink on this medication. I figured just a bit won’t hurt. We ate so much! Turkey legs and breaded pig - that’s breaded sausage on a stick!

Sorta scary news this morning. Mr Rebo pulled a muscle in his leg, and took 1/2 of a hydrocodone last night (my Dad’s prescription.) Today he’s beng sent for a random drug test. Do you think it will show up?

Ok - I’m off to do laundry and grocery shopping. I usually do that on Sunday, but I was recovering from walking 5 million miles on Saturday. Have a good Monday!

taxi, sending good thoughts your way. I hope all goes well for you.

Taxi, here’s to a successful outcome to putting your girlie bits in the repair shop.
I think tonight I’ll post a picture of my nuts for y’all to enjoy.

**Taxi ** - everything will be fine - and please do something to papmper yourself once you’re home

**Rebo ** - looks like you had great weather and a lot of fun

taxi, I did have general anesthesia for my tonsillitis. No secondary effects have been recognized (any brain damage was prior and being crazy runs in the family), but I got to eat custard and ice cream for a week. Mind you, it was pretty bad ice cream, so after a week of it I was ready to kill for anything-else-at-all. Of course, the custard and ice cream were linked to the tonsil bit and not the anesthesia bit: you may have other food while you recover, if you want (am I generous or what?)

rebo, cool pics

Ophie’s pedalling the vibe machine and pointing it right in your direction, taxi.

YAY!!! bobbio is gonna post some new dog pics! Huh? Not those nuts? NEVERMIND!!!

Good luck with the surgery, taxi!

Good luck taxi! I’m not a big fan of general - I get kind of a hangover-y feeling the rest of the entire day.

Speaking of things medical - I just had my second accupunture treatment on my knee. My chiropractor noticed last week, I was walking kind of gingerly. I explained it’s an old knee thing that’s been operated on once and he asked if I’d give this a shot before I went back to the orthopaedic lady, so I surrendered my knee to him since he’s done wonders for my back.

It feel great now, but it did on Friday right afterwards too, and then got sore again yesterday. I dunno, he says 4 treatments will make it all better, I’ll give it a ahot.

Recipe, please.

Prayers headed out.

picu, how’s the finger coming? I didn’t look at the pics- I just want a nice written description. QD enjoyed the Hallowe’een gross-out thread, but I wimped out.

Reminds me of a joke:

A little old lady is walking down the hall of a nursing home. As she walks past the men she flips up the hem of her nightgown, and yells “Super Sex!” She come to an old man in a wheelchair, flips up her night gown, and yells “Super Sex!” The man looks at her, thinks for a minute, and says, “I’ll have the soup.”
