It wasn’t a coup

Regardless of any of any of those instances, it is a leap of faith to put any of that together and come up with a coup attempt

It’s a leap of faith to assume that the party that has been denying the results of a free and fair election and telling their base the election was stolen and that they need to do something to save their country could possibly use illegitimate means to stay in power?

You’re fucking retarded and also in complete denial. Trump could say “I call upon my supports to execute a coup against the US government and install me into power by killing the Congress of the United States before they can certify the electoral win” and you would be on here talking about how of course that’s not a coup, don’t be ridiculous, wow you’re so sensitive, what a conspiracy theory

it is a leap of faith to put any of that together and come up with a coup attempt

Are you saying that an attempt to overturn the results of an election by using force isn’t an attempt at a coup by its very definition?

BTW, what’s your goal in repeating “no coup attempt” over and over?

Your assumption seems to predicated on Trump being smarter than anyone on this message board gives him credit for.

Please for the love of God, tell me his end game. The Man/bear/ pig declares him President for life

For fuck’s sake, this is devolving into the same semantic argument from earlier in the thread.

It was a dumb as shit coup attempt that had little hope of success. That doesn’t make it any less a coup attempt. It just makes it dumb as shit.

Just because something is dumb as shit doesn’t make it any less valid. My neighbors kid jumped out of a tree trying to fly. Had no chance of success but it doesn’t make it any less of an attempt to fly. Just a really dumb one.

No, this isn’t semantics, MustangSal is likely trolling, but if not, he’s in severe denial. He’s not saying “it’s not a coup because it failed” like some people were upthread. He’s saying the very idea that this could be a coup is ridiculous because it would have involve a conspiracy, and conspiracies are like qanon, so if you think there’s a coup, you’re just the left-wing equivelent of q-anon. His line of attack is actually much dumber than the ones at the beginning of the thread.

I’m saying Trump riled up the crowd, they went down to the capital, fucked things up. All of whom should be brought to justice. Including Trump.

It wasn’t an attempted coup.

Wow, that is really fucking dumb.

So, Poe’s Law (or a very close facsimile) strikes again.

Either a troll or incredibly fucking stupid. Neither says much for our new poster.

It was.

How many people were involved in this?

How many people faked the moon landing?

As a veteran of the moon landing hoax threads I can tell you that you are dumb.

I don’t know . . . but please tell us more about how the Moon landing was faked.

It wasn’t. It is a conspiracy theory

That is nice, the diplomats that I cited are telling you it was an attempted coup or auto-golpe. They are not into conspiracy theories, but reality.

So your cites will be used in Trumps impeachment? Or will they be be dismissed by both democrats and republicans as conspiracy nonsense?

Oh wait, the Democrats are in on too.

In your view, where is the line drawn between a stupid unsuccessful coup attempt and a stupid unsuccessful attack on government that isn’t a coup attempt? What is a specific qualifying criterion for the term “coup”, in your view, that this attack didn’t meet?

Just repeating over and over that you don’t think it was a coup attempt doesn’t explain your reasoning. Do you in fact have any reasoning about this, or just a vague gut feeling that you know what a coup attempt would look like and this wasn’t one?

As I said, it’s clearly established that plenty of people in the stupid mob were planning to fuck stuff up. Just because the plans were stupid and ultimately ineffective doesn’t mean they didn’t exist.

You seem to be clinging really hard to the comforting assumption that the attack was just a totally spontaneous unforeseen act by a randomly assembled crowd that Trump “riled up”. That assumption is looking more and more naive as more people are arrested and more data about their actions in the lead-up to this attack comes out.

As is your clinging to the notion that an actual attempt at a coup was attempted

Usually failed coups end in firing squads for all involved.
