Italian pronunciation of Patricia and Beatrice

Is it “Pa trich chia” and “Be a tri chia”? Or the way we pronounce them??

IANI, but I can tell you that neither would be pronounced like we (I) do. Even Patricia, which I would pronounce pa-TRISH-a.

I’m not sure I understand your question.

Anyway, all I have to offer is that the Italian version of Patricia is “Patrizia”.

As for “Beatrice”, maybe this can help: Beatrice Portinari - Wikipedia.

Oh, wait, there’s also this: How to pronounce Beatrice in English - Definition of Beatrice in English.

Patricia would be Patrizia , pronounced “pat-REE-tzee-ah”

Wouldn’t it be pa-TREE-tzee-ah or pa-TREET-zee-ah

You’re right, it’s pa-TREE-tzee-ah

And it’s “Bay-AH-tree-chay”.

Nope. Only three syllables. /pa 'tri tsja/.

To be scrupulously accurate, the pronunciation includes raddoppiamento (phonosyntactic consonant doubling) on the z (so that it sounds like [tts] instead of just [ts]):

[pa’trittsja]

Still only 3 syllables, anyhow.

This is how my Italian family says my mom’s name, for what it’s worth.
