[ALT] 167 gets me º

That’s a cents thing, like $10ºº. Use [ALT] 176 instead: °.

Have you looked at it using Google Earth? It’s like Sim-City or something, there used to be (and may still be) roads that simply stopped on the way to a place (housing or industrial estate) that didn’t exist yet, waiting for the designer to wave the mouse over
Just did. One such road is actually called Simms Croft…

What’s wrong with towers? People have to live somewhere, and we can’t all live in single-family houses, or even low-rise apartments
There’s nothing inherently wrong with a tower structure, that much I agree with you. However, at least in Britain there’s a Pavlovian repugnance involved when people start mentioning ‘tower blocks’ or ‘high rises’ due to the failed social experiments of post-war housing. Sixties aesthetics + low income housing = ugly concrete monoliths that are havens for drug dealing (lots of covered nooks and crannies), vandalism, and elevators that are out of order more often than functional. It’s served as the archetypal British ghetto for a while now.
I think the thread title should have a comma between the words “block” and “you”. But it is only a Small Clanger…
