It's a good time to be a Boston sports fan.

Even the Bruins are doing well this year. Yes, I’m gloating.

Check the location. We had a nice run (which will hopefully continue) with the Sox and the Pats, then the Celts came back, and now it’s the B’s turn. Now if the Revs could just close out the season with a win…

Not that I expect the Bruins to win the Stanley Cup but I wonder what city has had the shortest span between winning all 4 major championships?

Is it ever a bad time to be a Boston sports fan? I remember all the whining about how Boston is a cursed sports city after the Pats won their 8th superbowl in 3 years and I wanted to burn the whole thing down.

With the Celtics of the 50’s, 60’s and 80’s and the Bruins on the early 70’s we never really could complain. Sure, the Red Sox are bigger then both, and we had quite the complex, but you can lay the blame on the Yawkees more then the Babe.

The Pats, that’s just gravy.

Bad timing award, at least if you are talking baseball and the Teixiera deal the Yankees pulled off today. But I don’t think it will make that big a difference actually.

I’m not all that upset about Teixiera. The fans would end up paying for that contract and I’m a big fan of Mike Lowell.

Eat It.

[sub]Just for good measure…[/sub]

Late 80’s, early 90’s. The Bird era was over for the Celts, the Pats were still in their pre-Parcells patheticality, the Sox were still hampered by the Yawkey estate’s cheapness, and the Jacobses were still refusing to spend any serious money on the B’s (stll are, really).

Yeah, what Elvis said. My teams were losing a LOT of games when I was in elementary through high school. Everything did sort of turn around at the same time, though.
